    Broke
I seldom need to use my impact wrench; maybe 2-3 times a year to rotate tires. This bit broke in less than 2 years. It removed less than a dozen wheels before it broke.

This is a great socket adapter. I've had problems with different socket adapters that this one has addressed and made it a much better experience. One that I used in the past would twist in the chuck a little bit making it almost impossible to get out. So you'd need to go the opposite direction of what you'd just been doing to hopefully get it out. I've also snapped 1/2 inch adapters before taking off lug nuts or driving a lag bolt. I put this one through the ringer and it still looks and acts like new. I installed a custom 6 inch lift on my side by side and this adapter held up amazing and did a great job.

This is a great product that I wish I knew it existing years ago. Any 1/2" socket can now be driven by my cordless electric drill. I will still use a socket wrench for breaking a bolt loose or for the final tightening but for long lag bolts on a deck I think this beats the ratchet any day. Probably work well with deep sockets for a nut on a carriage bolt. Now I need to get the 3/8" version!

I was really surprised this little adapter allowed me to drive and snug up a 3/8" lag bolt into framing lumber. It looks sort of funny with a big half inch drive impact socket sitting on the end of a 1/4" drive impact driver. The little driver hammered a lot , but it ran the lag bolt right in tight. I predrilled with a 1/4" spade bit. So there was a ton of meat left for the threads to engage. This handy little adapter goes right in my everyday tool bag.

This is Milwaukee's Impact Duty Adapter that enables a 1/4" hex socket impact wrench to drive a 1/2" socket. I've needed one of these for years to enable my two pneumatic 1/4" hex guns to drive my 1/2" impact sockets. YES, there were pneumatic impact drivers long before today's cordless versions. Yes this can be used with a cordless impact driver to break lug nuts loose...but an impact wrench is more suited and the internal hammer is bigger and designed for such abuse. Why the four stars? Milwaukee has an excellent product with specs beyond any torque that my guns will be called upon to produce. (Except once. Long story and it involved two men and a 6' pipe extension to break that nut loose.) I've watched tests where a number of 1/2" socket adapter bits were tested to destruction. The Milwaukee adapter broke at the narrow cylindrical "torque" area about mid-pack in terms of foot pounds needed to break. The Milwaukee is a premium product and shouldn't be in the middle of the competition when tested to destruction.

I received my Milwaukee shockwave 1/2 inch socket adapter in good condition. This allows your 1/4 in impact driver to use 1/2 in sockets. This is made in Taiwan with further processing in China. Milwaukee claims up to 50X life. The weak link in the bit of course is the 1/4 in shaft, and you can only expect low to moderate torque to be applied without failure. It appears to be well made, fitting nicely in a 1/4 in chuck without issues. I have not tested the bit to it’s limits, but have no doubt it will provide good service for me in the garage.

Milwaukee’s Shockwave Impact Duty ½” socket adapter has a strong spring to retain a socket onto the adapter, but not so tough that you can’t remove the socket without excessive force. I don’t know what “UP TO 50X LIFE” means, but the adapter has a substantial ‘heft’ to it and has a no-nonsense flat black finish. Without destroying the adapter, it is difficult to test how strong it is. I can say it resisted my diamond engraving tool pretty well. Milwaukee is a brand I trust, no matter the country of manufacture. I expect long life from this Milwaukee Shockwave adapter.

The Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty 1/2 in. Alloy Alloy Steel Square Socket Adapter Bit is a very handy little addition to my tool box. The sockets fit tightly and the ball bearing is nice quality steel . The bit fits snugly into the chuck of my drill. The heat treated steel should help provide durability and longer life. This is a great tool to help speed up any job around the house. I

MILWAUKEE SHOCKWAVE IMPACT DUTY 1/2 IN. ALLOY ALLOY STEEL SQUARE SOCKET ADAPTER BIT Milwaukee has made this adapter bit to use your 1/2 inch sockets with your drill. I don’t recommend using it to break loose the lugs on your wheels as they would snap, but isn’t intended for that purpose. Great for use on lighter jobs where you just need to tighten or loosen bolts or. nuts. Nice adapter and I highly recommend this.

Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE - Sounds pretty cool! I love the marketing muscle behind this 1/4" hex to 1/2" square socket adapter. It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison of this bit to lesser branded alternatives, but I'm happy with the apparent high-quality and engineering that sits behind this marketing. Up to 50x Life of other products is a pretty steep claim. I'm more of a do-it-yourself home improvement user, so am hoping this outlives my needs and use for this product!
