Can I use this over a crib to finish it? Just thinking about a child possibly gnawing on the wood. Would this be considered a safe product in the event the child does this?
Asked by: Matt
I'm not seeing any warnings on the can regarding the dried product. That being said, I think I would err on the side of caution. You might want to contact the company and ask them.

Can I put this on my metal drill press table and column?
Asked by: chris
Yes you can put this on your drill press! This is what we use on out table saw tops to make wood slide with less resistance. Works great on tools you put in storage that you don't want to that too.

what does one use to "buff"?

after staining- following w/the paste wax--?
Asked by: rusticJul
Used a floor buffer - which you could probably rent. Can't imaging the work involved trying to buff by hand, particularly for first-time use on the floors. In all honesty, the results are worth it. I figure that periodically, I'll just come back and buff the floors again without having to go through the whole routine.

Can I use this to seal/finish my white baseboard trim? I don't want a lacquered look, so I don't want to use poly. But I REALLY don't want it to yellow or change the beautiful white color of my wooden baseboard trim. I just want it to be a smooth, buttery finish that's sealed in case it needs a quick surface cleaning.
Asked by: Ruby
No, the wax is not suitable for that application.

I use this mostly to protect the work surfaces on my shop equipment. I put some on a rag, rub it on the surface, let it dry, and everything slides very smooth. I use this on my table saw top, jointer top, the soles of my hand planes, prevent rust on heads of hammers, and preventing rust on hand tools. After applying, my hand planes glide over the wood and wood slides effortlessly through the jointer. I've had the same tub for three years and haven't used a quarter of it so it goes a long way. It brings the shine back to tools. This also gives a very nice shine and smoothness when applying it over polyurethane or other finishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good substitute for more expensive waxes I was using this wax to go over chalk paint, to avoid paying for a very expensive can of Annie Sloan furniture wax. I think this product worked well, although it's not totally clear when it dries. Also, I learned that if you are going to buff away excess wax, it's very important to do so about 15 minutes after application. I waited till the next day to buff and it was very, very difficult to remove. When i buffed after just 15 minutes, I was much happier with the finished project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I used this to apply a finish top coat over a large picture frame I built. I painted with acrylic craft paint, distressed the edges and finished with the wax. It was super easy to work with, it was fast, and I achieved the exact finish I was looking for. Much easier and faster than any spray or laquer top coat I've used in the past. Apply, wait 15, buff off, done. Finish wasn't oily or sticky and I was able to handle the piece within moments of finishing. Plus, I barely made a dent in the can. This stuff will last me forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I used the 'special dark' version of this wax on a mahogany desk that had lots of scratches in the poly finish. Use 600 grit sandpaper to remove fine scratches and swirls then apply this wax with #0000 steel wool. It takes some buffing but leaves an excellent hardened finish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is AMAZING!!! I recently purchased a bedroom set that had seen better days. Some surfaces were veneer and some wood, so I sanded and painted. Most top coats/sealers tend to turn yellow when using over a light color paint....this did not! Super easy to apply and clean up is a breeze!
