I have used it for them and it did not harm the plant at all. Mine went dormant over a year ago before I found the indoor plant food and I think the only thing keeping it from dying is this plant food.

Customer Reviews

Liquid 8 oz. Indoor Plant Food is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 291.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the liquid! I agree with all of the reviews. I have used the Miracle Grow liquid plant food for years with wonderful, consistent results. Why discontinue such an effective, popular product? The foam is messy, difficult to use on full plants such as ferns, and is used up quickly. Fast depletion of the bottle only benefits the company, not the users. Since so many people are dissatisfied with the foam, I hope you will truly consider bringing back the liquid. Sometimes a change only for the sake of change is not a good thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why replace good product with this useless one? I loved the old Miracle Gro. It was easy to use. It was worth the price. One bottle lasted forever. And it worked. This foam is complete rip-off. I searched for the old bottle and finally realized it doesn't exist any more. I bought a bottle of the foam even though it is much more expensive. I got it home a realized the bottle leaked -- the entire bottle was empty and the bag was full of sticky liquid. I bought another bottle which was mailed to me tightly packed in plastic and it too leaked! So I have spent a fortune and ended up with about half a bottle. I used what I had one time and the bottle is mostly empty. It is awkward to use and the foam gets all over the plant. Absolutely useless. Why would you replace the old version with this? Based on the reviews I just read I am not alone in thinking you made a big mistake. I will not spend money on any more foam. You have lost a good costumer. NO -- I do not recommend this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is terrible!!! Please bring back your old liquid houseplant food. I agree with the majority of reviews -- the new foam is TERRIBLE. I have plants of varying sizes (from small windowsill plants to 4 and 5 foot tall floor plants) and when I used the old liquid diluted 10 to 12 drops in a quart of water I knew all of my plants were getting the appropriate amount of food regardless of their size. I used it every time I watered and my plants flourished! Not only is the foam messy (I cannot reach the soil of some of my fuller plants) there is no way to tell how much foam each plant needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just saw it in the store I am very disappointed that the liquid indoor plant food is no longer available. I saw this new funky dispenser in the store and realized I can't use it for my plants. I water hard to reach plants. I can't reach them to pump foam in the pots. If I pump this stuff into the middle of my asparagus fern, the plant will scratch me and I'll get little thorny spurs in my skin. I've used Miracle plant food for 15 years now. I guess I won't be using it anymore. Hopefully Scotts Miracle Grow will realize their mistake and bring back the old product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not like this product. As the previous 5 reviews state, the product is to hard to use, especially since I have to climb on my counters to water some plants on top which means I have to make two trips up the step ladder for each plant. At 67 years old, its too much for me. I have only used the new foam twice and the bottle is half empty, I have a lot of house plants. When I put the drops in the water I knew that no matter what size the pot was, the plant was getting enough food.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product What were you thinking? The application of this product is incredibly difficult and inconsistent. Never had to worry about the product hitting the leaves before. Cannot evenly distribute the fertilizer throughout the soil. Ineffective. Bring back the original product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back the liquid form! I have not even bought this product because, as other reviewers have stated, it would be a nuisance to use. I have used liquid Miracle-Gro for over 30 years, both for my extensive collection of indoor plants and, during the warmer months, for my many outdoor hanging baskets and potted annuals. Because I use so much, I always buy multiple bottles, and always lay in a large stock for winter, because the garden center from which I buy closes from Christmas Day through March. The liquid Miracle-Gro is a superior product. In fact, it is perfect. Why mess with a good thing? Please produce it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor replacement for a formerly great product The new foam is an unsatisfactory replacement for Miracle Grow Liquid plant food. It was foolproof and easy to use the liquid in my plant water. My plants thrived, even when an office mate watered them while I went on vacation. The foam takes two hands to pump on my plants, and it offers NO advantages. Now I have to find a replacement, which I'm sure some manufacturer is working on now that Scott's has abandoned their customers. I haven't seem ANY positive reviews here. Take note, Scott's.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLEASE BRING BACK THE HOUSEPLANT FOOD IN DROP FORM I am not satisfied with this product at all and will not buy it again. Your houseplant food in drop form that was mixed in water was truly a miracle of a product. I frequently bought it for family and friends to introduce them to a product that really produced great results. Now, I'm scouring the Internet to see if I can find a supplier who still has the drops in stock so I can stock up. I don't understand why companies will try to improve a product that doesn't need improvement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I've used Miracle-Gro indoor plant food for many, ,many years and have always been very happy with it. I find this new foam dispenser to be hard to use and I'm very unhappy with it. I've looked every where for the old one and can't find it. Please bring it back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not An Acceptable Replacement-Bring Back The Drops I was sad to find out that the drops have been discontinued. This is not an acceptable replacement. My family has been using Miracle-Gro for over 20 years. We have some plants that have been in the family for three generations. I'm hoping some of them make it to four. The foam product is messy. It is not easy-to-use as the front of the bottle states. It is especially hard to use on full plants and ferns. The foam has to be washed/diluted from the leaves into the soil. Initially this caused some overwatering issues. Now I just pump the foam into the middle of the plant/leaves and water as I normally would have. This leaves some of the foam not "diluted". Neither one seems like a good option. The drops were easy to use. I knew exactly how many drops to use in my watering container and felt confident that my plants were getting what they needed. I'm not sure now. I will also add that the foam is not a great value. A bottle of drops used to last me almost a year. I will be lucky if the pump lasts for one month. It is almost gone after three weeks of use. That means at least 11 more bottles to throw away a year. #For those of you thinking of waste and the environment.# How long will it take to get the drops back into production? Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad idea Who ever thought this product was an improvement doesn't grow house plants! First of all, it means you have to not only drag your watering can around, but now also this bottle. And I don't know about your plants, but mine seldom have enough exposed soil on which to apply the foam, or it gets all over the leaves and then you have the additional burden of "rinsing the foam from the leaves as you water." So, I don't have room to apply foam to soil, so I put it in the watering can when I fill it--and it foams up all over the place. My local store said they don't sell the old bottle anymore, so I guess I am going to another product. Hare-brained idea, that is all I can say.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Good Replacement for Discontinued Indoor Drops We used the now discontinued drops for years and years, adding it to watering cans for outdoors as well as indoors. It worked great. The nursery said this this "stuff" is the replacement. It's not really a true "replacement"--it is an "instead of" because it doesn't work the same or as well as the "Indoor Drops" Fortunately we have a little of the original and we will find another brand that most closely matches it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miss the old stuff I have used the old miracle gro plant food for over 25 years. This "replacement" is not in the same league as the former product. I can't help but think of the New Coke debacle. A wonderful product is changed or eliminated when it is already popular and useful. This bottle doesn't last last as long. Is relatively expensive. Is not as convenient to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greener, healthier, stronger plants I had a variety of green leaf plants and succulents, about 10 in all which were struggling with thin and scrawny branches, some looked dead but I was reluctant to throw them away. Decided to try one more time to see if they would survive otherwise would be thrown away. Used the Miracle Gro indoor plant food over a couple months duringr the winter and now I have much bigger plants with a healthy green color and stronger branches. I am very pleased with the come back of the plants. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the drops!! This product is horrible. Why did you change it? The foam is too inconsistent when it comes to the amount being used and it takes too much water to actually get it to absorb into the soil. Half the time the suds will just sit on top of the dirt and the next time I water I can see a white residue. Do not purchase this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This stuff sucks. I've been using the discontinued drops in the tall bottle for 10 years or more with never a problem, rapid watering, no mess. This new stuff is baloney, the foam doesn't go where you want it, it gets on the floor, on the leaves, it looks disgusting. Why did you change? I used the foam and ONLY because I am going on vacation and want the plants fed did I go back to buy the blue crystals; it took me 40 minutes to find a container then to measure and water all the plants; this took 5 minutes with the drops. You've lost a customer because I'm going looking for someone else's product that available in a reasonably sane means of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It makes it difficult to water plants not on a table. With 20 or so plants to water, some of which are on ledges, the original liquid plant food was great. Mix it in the waterer and off you go. This new foam doesn't readily dissolve in the waterer so I have to juggle both the foam dispenser and the waterer up a ladder or make two trips to be safe. Please, bring back the liquid or make it available as an option. At this point I'm considering pulling off the foam dispenser top and using an eye dropper to measure out the solution.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the non-foam version please I loved the old version of the Miracle Grow drops. The foam version is a pain to use, runs out too quickly and often leaves unsightly foam after watering. Please, please, please bring back to old version.
Date published: 2014-06-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from No! Bring back the liquid drops, please! The foam is useless and appears to be a way to get consumers to use more product up faster. The drops were so easy to use and lasted forever. I'm so upset! The drops were such a great value and product. Bring back the drops, please. I will not use this foam and I will no longer consider Miracle Gro products because of this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing poor product!! How disappointing that Miracle-Gro switched from liquid houseplant food to a foam formula. The new product is not easy to use nor as effective. The liquid product I have easily used for years, with wonderful results. Please bring back the liquid version!! In the meantime, I have been forced to use a competitor's product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New product is a big fail Not sure why it was decided to discontinue the liquid plant food, but it was a bad decision. You do not get as much as you did with the liquid and it's more expensive. I used the older product for years and loved it. Tried the foam and am so disappointed. I will never buy this product again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible product This product is terrible to use, messy, difficult to apply, and my plants don't seem to respond to it. Very poor value it only lasted a few months as apposed to the old liquid would last me a year and a half. bring back the liquid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You will grow lovely plants I love this product and have used it for years to water my indoor plants and my neighbors and family are amazed at how nice they look and continued to blossom year after year. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Date published: 2015-04-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works, but goes fast! I like the convenient application from the small bottle. It foams out and then you water the plants. However, it goes fast, especially if you have several plants on your patio or in your house. I think I will stick with the standard miracle grow plant food that you mix with water. Having to mix with water is a bit more of a pain, but this 8 oz bottle is just not going to last long enough to make the value worthwhile. If they have a larger size, I'd probably go with that instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate the foam dispenser. Please bring back the original liquid drops version. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Date published: 2015-04-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate the foam...really hate it. Bring back the drops please. When watering a large number of plants, it was far easier to add the drops to the large container of water than it is to deal with this hit and miss dosing with the foam. Very difficult to get foam to disappear from soil without overwatering. To the developers/marketing department: "Sometimes, just because you can do something clever, it doesn't mean you should."

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible idea! Bring back the liquid I just spent Sunday afternoon hitting all the stores I thought might carry your inhouse liquid plant food that I have been using for years. Since I now know that you have discontinued this, on the last store, I purchased from one of your competitors. My plants are too large to access the soil using your new foam. I can't imagine why you went to a foam product. Bring back your liquid!
Date published: 2015-03-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product. I like the old product when you... Horrible product. I like the old product when you can actually use DROPS. The product releases far too much liquid fertilizer with each squirt. I am going to buy one more bottle in case mine was defective. Go back to the old product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very poor product Truly an awful product. I know you can't please everyone so why not have both foam and the regular product? Foam is messy, inconvenient and you don't get nearly as much as you do with the liquid. Will be searching for another product. Certainly will never purchase this foam again.
