Questions & Answers

Is there any Potting soil for vegetable covered the whole season

Dear Sir, As a gardener, I am looking for a pot soil having all nutrient required for most vegetable crops from seedling to Adult Stages in particular for Solanaceae & Cucurbitaceae Crops without any further amendment. My Idea is to grow the vegetable in bag Culture Technique with only water drip irrigation rather than the continuous pumping the nutrients through irrigation system used . Thank You

You are asking in the wrong area and technically asking the wrong question. What you want is a type of tea (a mixture of soils and other permaculture), you won't find that here. It's doable but only with some research and experimentation. There are no shortcuts and no one size fits all solution.

This is not a spray -- it is water soluble meaning you mix it with water or apply to plant and water in.

so i see some of the other plant foods for tomatos and vegetables have extra Calcium i know most vegetables need lots of Calcium. does this have the needed calcium already included or do i need to get extra? im not very good with plants (they usually die on me ) so i want to make sure i get what they need this time. i have jalapenos, habenaro, bell peppers, celery (started from the heart of an existing plant), garlic(4 cloves that sprouted of it as we love garlic), and a green onion. i dont want to get extra if this has enough for my plants but if it dosent i do want to get extra but i didnt see anything that said it had extra calcium like on other plant foods.

Tomatoes often need extra calcium, but I do not see any listing for calcium on the label. Generally calcium does not come in a "water soluble" form. If the tomato develops black rot on the base, you need to add lime (calcium).

Will this be as effective as using citruis-specific feed on citrus trees?

Will this be as effective as using the citruis-specific feed on citrus trees?
Asked by: Lisa
No this is not the ideal mix for citrus. Citrus may need something more like a 13-7-13. Your actual dosing will depend on the specific type of citrus plant, it's age and stages of growth. This is something you will want to do some research on, as asking here is not going to get you the answers you want, only generic advice at best. If growing citrus you may need something to adjust iron content, calcium and acidity levels. A permaculture approach would be more sustainable.
