Goes on smooth
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Who doesn't want to update their door or furniture. I know this paint is design for the door but I did my entertainment center. One can does the job. The paint goes on smoothly and leaves a nice satin finished after painted. There are no streaks after dry. I used to coats. Anyone can use this paint whether you a professional or beginner.

I should have painted before!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was actually afraid to put a fresh coat of paint on my front door as it is black (as well as the shutters). I thought that they wouldn't match or it would be too difficult to find a matching color for the door. Turns out there is paint made specifically for the front door! It looks so much better now! The only downside was I need more than two coats (in scratched spots) to cover the blemishes. The finish, though, is great and is exactly what the front door should look like. Also, one jar is more than enough to paint the door (and probably all the shutters, too).

great coverage, dries fast

My husband and I were just discussing repainting our front door and this product by Modern Masters came up and I grabbed it. Me never painting before EVER was a little nervous but this paint went on smoothly. My door was already painted black parts were chipping off and the white prime base was starting to come through. I cleaned the dirt off my door and began to paint. Never heard of self leveling before but OMG it works wonders. My door has such a smooth even finish that it looks like a BRAND NEW DOOR! The paint went on so smooth and quick and it seems like it dries in an instant it's that fast. I put 2 coats on after drying all brush marks disappeared. I can see why this paint has a lot of rave reviews. Go get you some!

Modern master express yourself front door pajnt

My doors were originally painted black but over time they have become scratched, chipped and faded. The paint was super smooth going on and kept the same color even after drying. I was SO excited and impressed! My doors look fantastic! I even chose to paint the side door as well!!!

Great versatility and performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this paint to refresh a metal storm door, the main front door and plastic shutters. I’ve gotten great results with all. One small container was enough to cover both doors. I found the formula quite different from most paints. The first coat applied almost translucent and I was concerned the coverage wouldn’t be good. When I applied the second coat, the color became saturated and beautiful. The color in the container becomes blue after sitting for a while but after a good shake, it really does come out as a rich black with a gloss finish. I used a cabinet roller to avoid paintbrush marks on the doors. I painted it directly on the metal door and shutters with no primer but I primed the main door and frame. The cold weather snuck on us and I still need to apply one last coat on the frame which I can’t wait to do when it’s bit warmer out. I already love how everything looks. The black color adds a lot of character to what used to be a plain white door. Next Spring, I’ll get another bottle to paint all the shutters that remain. I highly recommend this paint.

Major Fail
This paint looked great for a year and then it peeled and peeled. This is painted on a metal front door. We also painted the shutters and they stilll look good. Now we have to sand it all off and figure out where to go from here.

Let's talk about this! If applying Rust-Oleum Modern Masters Front Door Paint to bare metal, we do recommend priming the surface with a water-based primer. This will ensure full adhesion of the paint. Any loose paint can be removed via sanding or striping prior to priming and repainting the door. We recommend priming with Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer.

Wow, just wow! This paint is incredible!
I needed a real boost of color to my house to add some curb appeal. I have white siding with faux Lannon Stone on the front of my house, along with chocolate brown shutters and window trim. I like the brown, but the door was just plain white. I decided to try out this paint after reading many of the reviews. So impressed with it! I will say, it took two solid coats of paint, and two touch-up coats to get it nice and even, but it was well worth the effort. I started painting at 10AM and was done with all 4 coats by 7PM - no issues. Some have complained that it dries too fast and that an additive is needed, I did not have that experience, but knew also that I would have to work fast and efficiently. I had no problems, and the color is spectacular!

I used this paint on my inside garage entrance that we use every day. Beautiful bright color and high quality paint! It covered in two coats and was a vast improvement.
A little pricier than most paints, but they offer a more designer type variety of colors for doors than other paint makers.

Fabulous color! Took 3 coats on white plus touch ups using a hand brush. ABSOLUTELY take off your hardware rather than using tape! Works like traditional latex, so the tape takes off paint with it.
