Fantastically grippy, plus peace of mind for dry wood floors
I decided I needed this pet proof rug pad when I adopted a puppy at the same time my 13-year-old Kuvasz started having old-age accidents. I had already gotten a rug cleaner, but most of my house has wood floors, so cleaning the rug didn’t necessarily mean that the wood floor underneath stayed dry. Enter this rug pad. The 8’x10’ size is roughly twice as large as my rugs, which are all 5x7, so I used kitchen scissors to cut the pad to size. It’s not the thickest rug pad out there but it still offers some cushioning. One great feature is that the grippy side is VERY grippy - more so than so-called “non-slip” rug pads. And of course, best of all, my floors stay dry no matter how much snow, mud, or pet messes end up on my rugs.

Arrived just in time...
This was a critical need for a home with a new puppy. While we know the rug will likely be wrecked, we need to protect the wood floors. This is perfect. 8x10 (but can be cut to size) and acts as a pad and barrier to protect the floor. It is compressible, but not like a thick carpet pad. By just reversing it, it works on hardwood/laminate or on carpet. Seems to reduce noise on the hard floor.

Non-Slip Pad Works Very Well!
My dog loves to run and fetch in our long hallway but the rug slips and slides even though it had a pad underneath, but not anymore! We opted for the Mohawk Home Felted Rug Pad and that rug stays put every time! The pup can run and jump without worrying about the rug slipping underneath her. This grey mat came rolled up and was easy to unfold and lay flat. We have the 8 ft X 10 ft pad so we will be using it under other rugs as well. The burly tectured top clings to the rug whereas the underside has a vapor barrier to protect the flooring from spills and other moisture. It was very easy to cut the piece that we needed using household scissors and following the groove enabled me to cut a straight line. This padding is reversible in case you want to place it on top of carpeting. At 1/8 inch width the pad gives a comfortable cushiony feel.Great sound barrier, too. I've seen more expensive padding so the price is quite affordable for the excellent quality.

Works great!
Ceramic tile and dogs. Old dogs struggle on ceramic tiles due to the tiles inherent lack of traction. To help them navigate the tiles, I put down indoor/outdoor utility rugs. Some work, some don't as far as non slip backing. One in particular is a 5x8 foot rug in the foyer that always moves, a lot, when one of the dogs runs like a race horse. This product was the answer. It's as if that foyer rug is now nailed down and I am amazed....and thrilled. With the leftover, I cut and installed on my other indoor/outdoor utility rugs. I used a better quality scissor and it cut through the rug pad with minimal effort. Small pieces are used on my end tables to prevent some wood top protectors from flying off when the windows are open. There's all kinds of uses for this excellent product. Highly recommend.

Heavy Pet Carpet
We love our pets and we are always on the lookout for products that aid our efforts to maintain a clean and healthy home. The Mohawk Home 8 ft. x 10 ft. All Pet Grey Felted Reversible Pet Proof Rug Pad has impressed us in that it protects the floor underneath with a moisture barrier as well as a slip/slide resistant felted material and with a solid foam rubber padding. This is a heavy carpet and we expect it to provide years of service. We would recommend this carpet for you pet consideration.

This product is not .38 thickness. It's not even .25 thickness
This product is not as described on the thickness it claims which is 3/8, it's actually less than 1/4. I'm disappointed in the difference considering the price. The "plush" side is very rough, I would not put it against a wooden floor. The rubbery "pet proof" side is ridged which makes it easy to cut evenly. If you don't care about thickness, this product might be for you. However, I wouldn't purchase again due to the discrepancy of what is advertised and what you get.

Easy to use!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mat was super easy to use. We could easily cut it to size to go under our rug and it made for a nice, thick cushion. I like that it creates a barrier for any pet stains as well so we can easily wash the top rug.

Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is great to protect your floor and to place under a rug to help protect your floors. I like that it is reversible as well, however the materials has a weird fabric. Easy to trim and edit the size to make it fit any rugs. My cat will sometimes have accidents and knowing that my floor is protected is a good feeling. It is also washing machine when it gets dirty.

Keeps rug in one spot

I am thrilled that my rugs are staying in place on my wood floor with this product and that my dog can no longer cause the rugs to slide around. I had no trouble trimming the rug pad to fit. The product doesn't harm my wood floor. I like that the rug provides extra cushion under your feet. It’s easy to spot clean if your dog has a accident on it. I would recommend to friends and family.

Great Product

I decided to not use it as runner but to cut it up in smaller pieces and use it in different areas. I have one piece for my dogs water bowl and another piece for the litter box. It has proven to be better then any other rug I have bought. I recommend to others to purchase.
