Can't beat this rug for the price. I bought it to use indoors, on top of my wintery looking wool rug, and it does brighten up my living room for summer. It's not too thick to put on top of another rug, although we do have to be careful at the edges, since both rugs are exactly the same size, you could trip. Obviously not the fault of this rug, just the way I chose to use it. It's comfortable to walk on in bare feet, not scratchy. Color is a light tan, I was originally looking for something whiter, but I have white slip covers in the room and the tan works perfectly against them.

More Beautiful in Person
I LOVE my silver Montauk rug. It was the perfect backdrop to my screened porch makeover. It's prettier in person, but very true to color. I like that it has almost a driftwood color in the background, for a coastal feel.

This beautiful rug has a flat woven design in a natural tan color. From afar the color looks uniform, but up close you will see that there are variations of lights and darks in the color to add interest (see picture). The rug has a latex backing, so a rug pad doesn't seem to be necessary. It can be used indoors, or even outdoors to ground together your patio seating group.

I am so pleased with this rug. I initially got it for outdoor use since the description says it's suitable for that, but it's so nice I may find a use for it inside! It's reminiscent of a natural jute rug. A very nice, neutral natural look. However, in actuality it is made from polypropylene so it is much more durable and easily cleaned than jute. It's a flat weave, but nice and smooth and soft, not at all scratchy. Since it's so neutral, this is a great rug to ground a variety of spaces from dining room to outdoor patio seating.

The Montauk natural 8ft. X 10ft. Indoor Area Rug is a great addition to our family room. It looks like sisal but is made from olefin and appears to be easy maintenance. It has a rubber backing but would work with a rug pad. I really like the warm natural look and the textured weave. It is very comfortable to walk on with bare feet! I highly recommend this Rug. I have had it for about 2 weeks and love it.

We needed a large neutral rug that can withstand heavy traffic. This Montauk rug is advertised as having weatherproof design so it is “suitable” for outdoor use (according to the documentation). This is a great versatile option for anyone who lives indoor/outdoor lifestyle. The 8x10 rug is super heavy weighing almost 33 pounds. The fiber weave is tight mixture of tan and natural brown. Once rolled out it has a nice look that can be used anywhere and fit in or outside your home. The back of this rug has a hard rough texture. On flat cement, a deck or an unfinished surface it is fine. If you put the rug on wood floors, carpets, or linoleum you will need rug padding so there will be no damage to the surface. This rug will definitely withstand heavy traffic or weather and last for many years.

The Natural color (8'x10') is much darker than my laptop shows it online (see my photos). The flat weave is so dense that it isn't particularly soft to walk on and it is "stiff" which makes it feel more like an outdoor rug. It doesn't really have a backing so a rug pad is almost a necessity to make it softer and stop it from slipping for indoor use. For the price point, I would recommend a different rug for indoors since it isn't plush at all. I am using it in the master bedroom on top of plush carpet (as a decorative carpet protector). I gave it 3 stars partly because it has 4 pieces of yarn that are sticking out along the binding and I will have to snip those and hope it doesn't fall apart in those areas over time. The good thing about the rug, if you don't care about softness, is that you can use it in a high-traffic area and it probably won't show wear or dirt.

This Mantauk Natural 8 foot by 10 foot indoor area run is a fabulous product. Its deep weave, wonderfully bound finished look, special natural light tan color is the absolute best, and enhances in all lights. A perfect size for a larger room, and the binding is superb. The ridged and open weave means it is easy to keep clean, and it is woven in stain resistant fabrics.

Beautiful rug. I regret waiting so long to purchase it because the moment I had it down it completed the look of the living room. It is the perfect neutral rug to add a hint of texture to a space without being loud or busy. It pairs well with a smaller detailed busy patterned rug when layering. Get it shipped to the store if you want a better chance of it arriving wrapped well.
