Hello CabinFan, Monte Carlo offers downrods up to 72" in length without wobble. Monte Carlo uses a 1/2" diameter downrod so consult the downrod chart in the alternate images for a list of compatible versions. Thank you for your interest in Monte Carlo Fans!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have two I have two. A seventy inch one outside and a sixty inch one inside. The outdoor seventy inch one is on a NINE FOOT downrod. It does NOT wobble. I made the downrod with half inch black steel pipe, primed and painted. The indoor one is on the store bought six foot downrod. Also no wobble. These are quiet and move alot of air. One remote can control both or you can switch channels using the remote no ladder required to do so.

I had this professionally installed in our vacation home for $90 by Lenhart electric (one of the companies Home Depot has a relation with) which was worth every penny, as I did not have the balance issues that a few people described. The fan is beautiful, silent and moves air better than any home fan I've seen. As a bonus, Monarch has outstanding customer support. I have a sloped, but not high ceiling and was not sure if I could get away with an 18" down rod, or if I would need a 12". So, I ordered both. I possibly made a mistake when ordering and the 12" was sent to my billing address. Everything else came to the vacation house. Home Depot was unable to get a replacement 12" rod here before my installation date or my scheduled departure date. I called Monarch customer support and they overnighted me a rod at no charge. Outstanding. By the way, the 18" did work after all. The additional space between ceiling and fan blades allows for more efficient air flow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazingly beautiful and functional! This is a Monte Carlo Maverick 70” fan in brushed steel/walnut. I never knew a ceiling fan could add so much to the beauty of a room and it is amazing how people react to it’s simple and clean lines as well as the carved wood blades. I can no longer imagine my room without it! I used an 18” downrod in a 12’ ceiling which looks perfect in my room. The fan can definitely move a lot of air. It easily cools me on the lowest fan speed even though I’m not directly below it. In fact, I’m looking for a way to slow down the speed a little more. It is totally silent and wobble free. I had no issues installing it myself; the directions were clear. And it’s hard to believe it uses less electricity on low setting than my night light! The next time there is a hurricane evacuation here in Florida, I’m taking this fan with me. Just kidding, but I am very happy with this purchase and Home Depot had the best price on the entire internet, plus free shipping. Such a deal!

I looked for over year for a fan that would be both functional and beautiful. It definitely is a conversation started. The installation went smoothly. My husband and I assembled the fan and then had an electrician install it because of our 16' ceiling. It is quiet and pushes a lot of air, even on the lower speeds. I like the fact that you can easily reverse the direction with the remote. The fan did not need to be balanced, but there is a bit of a wobble at the higher speeds. I attribute that to the 4' down rod. I definitely recommend this fan.

We had an electrician friend install it for us. It looks awesome and runs quiet. It does have a very slight sway, but we attribute that to the 48” extension pole. No wobble at all. We have it outside in our tiki hut and it does make the Florida summer heat a little better.
