Im trying to start a project "moss graffiti" on a concrete wall. The project calls for live moss, would this work?
Asked by: Moni
No, what you need is not normally for sale. It is the very short 1/16 inch green fuzz-like moss that grows in the shade. If your wall is in the sun or is not almost always wet, your chances of growing it are not good. If the wall is wet, try going to a few plant nurseries and look under the benches. If there is some growing you can ask for some. They may give it, especially if you are buying something else. There is not likely to be much. I don't know of anywhere to buy spores - the moss equivalent of seeds - which would be your best bet, but try Google.

Is this safe for use in fish aquariums?
Asked by: petparent
Yes you can use it in an aquarium to modify the water pH and add tannins to the water. You should contain it in a fine mesh bag, or add it to a canister filter.

Can both sphagnum moss and Spanish moss be used to cover the soil on the top of a potted plant? Is one better?

Asked by: Mark
Its best to use sphagnum moss as it does not carry mold, I have found this brand to be the best on the market.

Is this milled?

Asked by: Peggy
This is whole sphagnum moss as one would find in nature. It is not milled - if by milled you mean made into small pieces.
