Product Overview

This patented radiant 4000-9000 BTU Liquid Propane heater connects directly to a 1 lb. cylinder and is the perfect solution for heating spaces up to 225 sq. ft. The expertly engineered size to BTU ratio is augmented with a fold down handle to give this heater maximum output while retaining a minimalistic footprint. A swivel regulator gives you the ability to adapt usage from a disposable cylinder to a remote gas supply with the purchase of a hose and filter. To light the unit, simply rotate the knob to pilot and push. Then the integrated Piezo sparking mechanism will take care of the rest. With the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) and accidental tip-over safety shut-off you can be sure that you will enjoy years of comfortable safe heat.

Thank you for your inquiry. This heater will run 108 hours on low and 48 hours on high on a 20 pound tank.

Pilot light wont stay on.

Answer

It says to keep it depressed and lit for 30seconds, I usually then move it over to high heat until the ceramic element glows red, then I turn it down to low. I'm not sure if your pilot light is going off while you're trying to light it.

I live in the Rockies at 8900 feet elevation, will this work fine that high? Will it still be saf...

Answer

Altitude restriction on buddy Thank you for the inquiry, The buddy series does have an elevation restriction of 7,000 feet, but it will in fact still work at higher elevations. The problem that occurs at elevations higher than 7,000 is the oxygen level in the air is naturally thinner at those elevations and can sometimes confuse the low oxygen safety sensor on the heater. If that were to happen the heater will simply shut itself off. Usually, letting the space the heater is being operated in get some fresh outdoor air to replenish the oxygen level will help allow the heater to remain operational for longer periods of time. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Do you need electric for this heater or just propane.

Answer

Just propane. The small bottle. Best product on the market. I’m on our Ranch in The white mountains in AZ and it is snowing on and off and this Buddy heaters are the absolute best. I bought two of them.

We used this with the adapter to use the regular BBQ grille propane bottles. It will run about 48 hours on low (4000 btu) and heated my vacant new office to 60 degrees with an average of 20 degrees outside temp. On high, it runs about 44 hours and on low it will run about 5 days straight on a standard 20# propane bottle. This "Mr Heater" has far less fumes than our old propane space heater.

Great product. No assembly required, simple to use; easy to carry (handle is offset from top so heat rising doesn’t burn your hand), propane canisters are easy find and are inexpensive ($5 or so), and best of all my partner loves the color red!

Output was less than my electric 1500 electric watt(5100 BTU) heater. Mr Heater does not put out what it claims. Can not be used in enclosed area in Massachusetts, though the online info says it can be used with ventilation...not true.
