Product Overview

Multinautic, your US Dock Specialist presents this dock kit that contains all the necessary galvanized steel hardware, fasteners and Foam Filled commercial floats to let you build a High Freeboard Floating Dock with the following suggested dimensions to fit your needs : 8 ft. x 12 ft., 10 ft. x 12 ft., 6 ft. x 16 ft., 8 ft. x 16. This kit does not include the wood. Lumber cut size listing, plan and instructions supplied with the kit will help you build a sturdy structure of exceptional quality at a very affordable price. This Floating Dock Kit can be added to another high freeboard floating dock with a pair of heavy-duty hinges, sold separately (item 19133). To access to this floating dock section(s) and to allow self-adjusting and a smooth transition from shore (or fixed dock), a semi-floating ramp is strongly recommended. Suggested high freeboard gangway dock kits are items 19385 or 19212.
  • By getting more than 1 kit, you can create custom made layouts to fit your needs such as T or L shape floating deck for family and friends. Connecting 3 sections in a U shape to moor your boat in the center will ease the on-boarding and will guard it from big waves
  • The kit includes 1/4 in. thick heavy-duty hot-dip galvanized corner brackets, back plates and anchor chain retainers, 1/8 in. thick hot-dip galvanized inside joist corners and back plates, carriage bolts and screws for 2 in. x 6 in. wood structure and the lag screws and large flat washers to secure the included floats
  • Includes 4x 24 in. W x 60 in. L x 16 in. H Foam Filled Commercial Floats with a buoyancy of 750 lbs. each, made from rotomolded premium black polyethylene
  • Note that wood is not included but the required lumber list of the suggested sizes can be downloaded from this web page and, if needed, a pair of dock hinges, item 19133, is sold separately
  • There is a limited Lifetime Warranty on galvanized steel corners, back plates and anchoring chain plates. Foam filled floats are covered by a 15-year limited Warranty
  • Pair of dock hinges (item 19133) sold separately
  • The floats are manufactured in the United States by Hendren Plastics. Eagle Floats exceed all the Marine Industry standards for encapsulated dock flotation using cutting edge technology: Infrared telemetry - Computer controlled steaming

Can you make this a 10x10 and attach to another 10x10 to make a 10x20? Is there a way to make it ...

Answer

I'm sorry to answer you so lately, we had difficulties to log on the platform but this response may also help other customers. So, yes, you will be able to adjust the suggested lumber sizes to make it 10' x 10'. It will just be higher than with the other proposed formats because as the dock will be smaller than suggested, it will increase the buoyancy . Note that the height of this dock section will be around 18" - 20" above water. The floats are 2 ft. x 5 ft. so you will have to make sure to adjust the lumber lengths to have them fit under the dock. You will then join the 2 frames with back plates and long carriage bolts in its center that will be removable for winterizing if needed. For a nice finished look, you can add long board on the sides that will hide the junction. The suggested lumber measurements and a guide explaining how to modify them to fit your needs can be found on this web page as .pdf files. If you need more information, don't hesitate to call us : 1-800-585-1237.

Can it be made 6 x 14?

Answer

Hello, yes you will be able to adjust the suggested lumber sizes to make it 6' x 14'. It will just be higher than with the other proposed formats because the buoyancy will be at more than 35 lbs/sq.ft.. Note that the height of this dock section will be around 18" - 20" above water. You must keep that in mind if it's to be added to existing dock. But let me suggest to make it 8' x 14', if you can, as it would gain more stability. Don't hesitate to give us a call if you need more information.

are all four different sizes the same price?

Answer

Hi PM, thank you for your inquiry. The kit includes pieces that will allow you to build a dock in those specified sizes. This is included in the price. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Same price for these various sizes??

Answer

Hello Mike, this kit includes everything you need excepts the wood and the anchoring (chains, shackles and concrete blocks that you will get locally). Anchor chain retainers, bolts and wood screws are included in this kit. See the bullets in the kit description and the technical drawing to know what's included. So, with this kit of hardware and floats, you can choose to build the size that fits your needs by referring to the lumber cut sizes listings supplied with the kit. You can browse this list on our website through this link: https://www.multinautic.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/F19449A_full.pdf The suggested sizes are proposed to give a good buoyancy, for a stable, high freeboard dock. Thank you for this question as it can help other customers to make the right choice.

Simple to put together, though a little monotonous drilling holes, tightening nuts and bolts, screwing on deck boards. Didn't come with all the hardware to start with, but Multinautic remedied the situation quickly.
