Perfect Seal is an innovative new product that takes the guesswork out of toilet installation. Perfect Seal is truly universal and it will work with any toilet installation. It fits any drain size and flange depth. Whether your flange is above the floor or below the floor due to re-tiling, the Perfect Seal guarantees a perfect seal the first time, every time. The patented seal design combines specially designed rubber gaskets with encapsulated wax to form a seal that is three times stronger than a wax ring without the mess. Unlike wax rings, the Perfect Seal stabilizes toilet bolts and allows the toilet to be repositioned as needed. It accommodates flange heights from 1/2 in. above the floor to 1-1/2 in. below the floor and maintains a tight seal when common toilet and floor movement occurs. Depending upon the height of the floor flange and the toilet horn, there may be instances when the toilet may not sit flush to the floor. In these situations, the black plastic ring that is inside the gray rubber casing of the Perfect Seal can be removed. The removal of this hard plastic ring will allow the Perfect Seal to be fully compressed and the toilet should then sit flush with the floor.

Questions & Answers

will this make my toilet too high?

I read another review and was wondering if this will make my toilet sit too high. My flange is above the floor.
Asked by: Daash220
If your flange is high then you don't use the blue extension of course like many posted here, but the directions say you can also remove the black plastic insert on the inside to be able to compress it more.

wax in the drain pipe?

love the design. I question wax going IN the drain pipe is a good idea? I worry it will create clogs (wax is a sticky mess, probably don't want it inside the drain?) Thank you
Asked by: fixmyhouse
All toilets are mounted with wax. This is sticky enough that it doesn't flow into the pipe. If you have so much wax that it is going into the pipe, then you need to scrape some off. The wax typically resides around the pipe in the flange area. A little wax that works off the drain is better than sewage on your floor.

Will this work 3/4 below floor

I have to level the floor so my ring will be 1/2 to 3/4 below the finish tile surface. Will this take up the gap with the blue spacer?
Asked by: Cabin
Yes, it will. I had the same thing and it worked out perfectly.

Can I reuse the same ring if Toilet removed and 8mm luxury plank installed which increased height?
Asked by: JD
Thank you for contacting Danco. No you can not reuse the same wax ring. Once the wax ring is disturbed it will no longer provide you the proper seal. You will need to get a thick was ring with no sleeve.

Even with the black ring removed it will not compress down enough for the toilet to sit on the floor. I broke my flange trying to seat in to the floor! Now i have to replace the flange!

This part cost more than the normal wax seal but landlord paid for it and my labor. I realized saving a penny for those cheaper, nasty wax seals are not worth it. This thing is straight forward and easy to install on any type floor. Why did I not give 5 stars? The washers are thin and a larger screw hole will work the washer loose and down toward the hole making the toilet loose and a toilet is too heavy to do this all over again. Washers only cost pennies but if they change them then this product get a lot more than 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product has addressed a problem toilet on which wax rings would repeatedly fail. ... Product has addressed a problem toilet on which wax rings would repeatedly fail. I believe the shallowness of the horn on our Wellworth Lite toilet combined with a small defect in the ceramic caused the wax rings to repeated fail. Despite, shaping and thoroughly adhering the wax to the toilet, it would always leak and slump off the toilet. It's been two months since I installed the Perfect Seal with no problems. I did encounter a couple of the issues cited by others, but I think I can explain how to work around them. Our toilet flange is level with the flooring, so the ring should work without the extension. However, when I set the toilet, it didn't feel like it made sufficient contact. So, I went ahead and added the blue extension and tried to seat the toilet again. The toilet would not go down far enough to meet the floor, so I removed the inner plastic collar per the instructions and the toilet seated properly with good contact with the ring. I think compressing with both the extension and inner collar in place had the following benefits: - It channeled the wax to seal around the drain flange completely. A small, thin flake of wax did get extruded from the inner side of the ring, but it only did this where the drain flange had some corrosion. I think the wax was simply flowing into the voids in the drain flange. - It caused the extension ring to actually stretch and grip the horn on the toilet, so when I lifted the toilet to check things out, it stayed attached to the toilet itself. I feel confident it will channel any liquid into the drain.

Have laid laminate over existing bathroom floor and was installing a new toilet. The floor was raise up so I needed to get a wax extension to make up for the space. When I was told to use this particular item, I was some what skeptical and hesitant at first, but when I watched the Home depot video describing it, I figured why not, I hated dealing with wax rings anyway. Instruction were easy to follow, seating it was a breeze and it gives you the flexibility to choose between three heights and the ability to reset the toilet without creating a mess because of forgetting to do something (wont say what I forgot). Perfect Seal Toilet Wax Ring by Danco is something that I will recommend to everybody.
