The plug all easily fits 1.5 inch to 2 inch diameter pipes. The plug expands by winding the nut on the top to tighten the bolt and expand the rubber stopper. I tested on a 1.5 inch pipe and then filled with water. There were no leaks, but this wasn't under pressure. The quality of the plug leads me to believe it will work as described if you were to use it as a temporary plug during home projects or new builds.
Danco test plug
Great little tool to have to test piping while installing or test it for any other reason. I used it to test the pan when installing a new pipe fitting for the shower. It'll handle 1 1/2 in and 2 inch pipes and it'll work on threaded and non threaded. I had no problem using it. It held a tight seal while I tested up to the pan. It's certainly the stopper to keep in the old plumbing toolkit around the house. It did the job that is made for it, and made my installation pretty simple. Also it can be used for exchange old cleanouts when you have to bust one to run the snake to clean the line, after that it is easy to remove and reuse the plug. It is truly versatile plug.
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Instructions, No Leaks, Reliable
PLUGALL 1 ½” & 2” Universal Plug and Seal.
I have a woodworking shop in my basement and the minute I saw this product I had another idea for its use! In my shop I have various diameter dust collection fittings, shop vacuum hoses, and non-standard size diameters that I need to plug from time to time so that my dust collection runs efficiently without air leaks. By turning the knob on this you can make a custom sized plug for just about any use between 1 ½” to a 2”dia. I may even find a need for it some day for the purpose it was made for, but for now it has solved my problem of going up and down the aisles of Home Depot trying to find something to plug the air leak from an odd sized hose or fitting. (It is an air and water tight sealing plug) I’m hoping maybe they will offer some other sizes in the future too? Very useful product for my needs and just a handy tool to have around the house for whatever might need a quick plugging.
Pros: Easy to Install, No Leaks, Reliable, totally adjustable sizing
Handy little gadget to have around, if you don't have a use for it now you'll think of one. It's advertised as a leak test device, and it does that well. Also great if you are changing out a sink or repairing the drain lines under a sink; instead of stuffing plastic bags or paper towels in the wall stub, pop this in and no worries about sewer gas. If you do your own maintenance on a swimming pool, you'll want to have at least one of these around. It works on 1.5" and 2" PVC.
One caution - the instructions include a warning to "hand tighten only" and they are serious about that. If you over-tighten, the bottom plastic piece (see photos) gets pulled up too far into the rubber gasket, and if confined inside a pipe it will not be able to let go.
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Instructions, No Leaks
Very easy to use test plug. I recently plumbed in a new bathroom, and this plug came in handy for a couple of reasons. My main stack is 2 inch and my sink pipe is 1.5 inch. With this dual plug, I was able to plug either pipe during the construction to keep the stink out of my construction project.
When I received the plug, it was not put together. It was pretty easy to figure out, but it came with no instructions. I honestly wouldn't have read them anyways, so it was a good paper saver. Once I got the parts in the right order, it worked like a charm.
Reusable until it wears out and can be used as a test plug as well. I will also use it for my leak test on my shower pan when I get it finished.
Great plug should have came out with this idea years ago, Save you from haven to own a 11/2" plug and 2" plug, Works great on threaded and non threaded fitting, Great sealing to perform shower pan water drain test for inspection and for 1 1/2" and 2' DWV pipe inspection test, Easy to use with a easy to turn handle. slips into pipes and fittings easy. yes I recommend this plug.
The Plugall 1.5 inch to 2 inch universal mechanical test and seal plug works very well. I like that it is designed to fit both sizes of pipe and cleanouts. It is lightweight, but the plastic body and nut looks strong and the plastic bolt has nice deep threads and is strong, as well. I tried it in a 11/2" PVC fitting and it sealed very tightly and made a good seal. I'd definitely recommend it as equal to or superior to other cleanouts I've used.
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Instructions, No Leaks, Reliable, universal plug and seal for 1.5 and 2 inch., great for cleanout plug repair, easy to turn, durable plastic
Simple to use, yet saves you in a pinch. No leaks or drips.
It arrived in pieces, but re-assembly took seconds. It's good that this can be taken apart since it will need to be cleaned when used with dirty water.
You get a screw housing, a pressure plate, hand screw fitting and large rubber bung that fits into the pipe to plug it.
Use is easy, just shove it into the pipe 1 1/2 or 2" pipe, tighten down the hand screw and it's all sealed super tight and totally leak free.
This even works to plug some basin style shop sink drains when you are trying to plunge a double drain sink.
It's a great idea it works well and it's not expensive, it's easy to clean and adjust and it seals tight as a drum. I'd recommend it.
