Product Details

Use the NIBCO 1-1/2 in. PVC DWV Coupling to connect PVC piping lengths in drain, waste and vent piping systems. The PVC DWV coupling features a hub x hub connection and connects PVC DWV piping lengths with solvent weld connections. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most frequently specified of all thermoplastic materials because of its light weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry on the NIBCO 4 in. PVC DWV Hub x Hub Coupling Fitting. The socket cups are on an angle (1 degree, so 1/2 in. on a side) to generate mechanical flex when properly solvent cemented, which holds the joint under some pressure during curing. But a pipe system should be properly supported in any case to prevent any flexural stress or bending-moment stress on all the components therein.
