AnswersThe p-trap that you have in the included picture is the same type of p-trap. The difference is that you need to purchase an 1 1/2" male trap adapter and glue them together. Please keep in mind that the part (in picture) you have is by a different manufacturer (Mueller) and may not work with the Nibco brand that Home Depot carries. You may need to change the entire p-trap, both parts.
Installed this and it leaks at screw joint.....no gasket really...help

AnswersYou either did not get it tight enough or some times it cross threads but for best results put some pipe dope around where the joints meet before you tighten nut

AnswersUpdate: As long as you have the new style it is a compression fitting and needs no glue! There is one that is a slip joint that must be cemented but will have no nut!!

My existing pipe is 1 1/4 and I wanted to go from galvanized to PVC. This trap is just what the doctor ordered Had to modify the slip joint to fit 1 1/4 pipe and that was an easy fit. Picture of the slip joint is attached. The 1 1/4 slip joint to l l/2 hub was fitted with 1 1/2 pipe and bored out to 1 1/4. Works and no leaks!!

The one in thw store is not the same as pictured here. I left another supply store to get this product becuase it shows the threads on the outlet side, not the c-side, which matches the one I’m replacing. Well after wasting 30 minutes I have the same thing that I could have bought at the other guy’s store. It isnt too hard to have up to date photos

Decent pvc trap but instead of a glue hub on the vertical where the tailpiece of a sink drain would drop into it would be better if Home Depot also sold the version of this trap that has a compression/slip nut instead of having to glue a male adapter onto this. This trap is good for tubs but not ideal for sinks even though you can use it for sinks with an extra fitting and maybe some pvc pipe.
