Product Details

The NIBCO 3/4 in. CPVC-CTS union is made of FlowGuard Gold CPVC and is ideally suited for hot and cold water pressure distribution systems in residential and commercial applications. The CPVC-CTS union is used for the repair of a line and features a female socket x copper male NPT threaded connection that allows for CPVC-CTS tube to be connected to copper piping. Please refer to NIBCO technical data sheets and catalogs for engineering and installation information. Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) has proven to be an excellent material for hot corrosive liquids, hot and cold water distribution and similar applications above the temperature range of PVC. CPVC will not rust, pit, scale or corrode. CPVC fittings are easy to install and are joined by solvent cementing or threading. NIBCO plastic fittings are backed by a 5-year limited warranty. These are Pressure rated but the temperature would determine if the fittings are derated from 150 psi. There is a replaceable seal which is part number P050620 PP.       A:  Thank you for your inquiry on the NIBCO 1/2 in. Lead-Free Copper and CPVC CTS Slip-Joint x Slip-Joint Transition Union. The copper threads are NPT and will be compatible with other NPT threads of the same nominal size. Connecting this to a brass valve with FIP NPT threads should be fine.         A:  Thank you for your inquiry on the NIBCO 1/2 in. Lead-Free Copper and CPVC CTS Slip-Joint x Slip-Joint Transition Union. This union is a NPSM (National Pipe-Straight Mechanical) thread form, (i.e., the union does not seal on these threads, the threads are a mechanical means to hold the two components together). Unions are not standardized on this thread so NIBCO’s union pieces do not work in conjunction with other manufacturers; the thread form is proprietary.
