No, the GB40 is designed for 12V ignition systems only.
The GB40 can be charged from any USB-C power source like your computer/laptop, a USB-C AC adapter, a 12V USB-C adapter, etc., in conjunction with the USB-C to USB-C cable provided with it (or any standard USB-C cable you may already own). The Boosts do not come with an AC Adapter to charge from the wall, as they are distributed globally and AC outlets change from region to region. However, the GB40 can use any USB-C AC Adapter like the ones many smartphones come with. To charge the unit, simply connect the included USB-C cable to the USB IN port on the GB40 and the other end to your preferred power source. No, federal laws regarding lithium batteries prohibits us from shipping the BOOST Jump Starters with a full charge. We strongly recommend fully charging the unit before first use.
The GB40 is a jump starter only, and cannot be used to charge or maintain a battery. See NOCO Genius Battery Chargers for that purpose. The 2011 Honda Pilot has a 3.5L gasoline engine, so the GB40 would be more than sufficient for jump starting that vehicle.
if the battery is totally dead will the device still work ?
The Boost line of jump starters can be used on all 12V Lead-Acid batteries. These include Wet-Cell, Gel-Cell, AGM, AGM+, Maintenance Free, and EFB batteries. The Boost will also work with Calcium Calcium, Calcium-Lead, and some Lithium batteries. We have not tested all lithium battery types with our jump starters, and suggest you contact the battery OEM for guidance. As long as your Group 94R battery is one of the aforementioned chemistries, and your vehicle's engine is within the 6.0L gasoline/3.0L diesel range, the GB40 would be compatible.
The Boosts do not come with an AC Adapter/Charger, as the unit is distributed globally and AC outlets change from region to region. However, the Boost can use any USB AC Adapter, like the ones many smartphones come with.
The GB40 can be charged from any USB source, like your cell phone's USB wall charger, a computer or laptop USB port, or a 12V USB adapter for charging from a vehicle's 12V cigarette lighter-style port. They are not supplied with an AC charger because they are distributed worldwide, and outlet styles vary in every region, but the GB40 can use any USB AC adapter rated at 2.1A or less.
Yes, the GB40 can be used to start a 2005 Honda Accord
