Q:Can this be used on a sliding class door with insulation for windows and doors just want to make sure that it will now remove the paint from the doors?

A:  I wouldn't recommend it. Duct Tape will leave sticky residue on the surface when removed - and that's your best case scenario. You could well end up removing the paint as you're concerned. Use painters tape or the double stick tape supplied with the insulation kits.

    A:  Hi there. This duct tape is made for a permanent hold. We would not suggest using it a for a temporary application, it likely would remove the paint. If you’re looking for a protective tape, we would suggest looking for “clean removal” on the label.

      A:  Thank you for your question. Nashua would actually recommend a heavier-duty product than the general purpose 394 duct tape for sealing heavy-weight vapor barrier films. Nashua 398 All-Weather would be an excellent choice as well as Nashua Residue Free Poly Hanging Tape (available on homedepot.com) for permanent seals that help maintain the integrity of the vapor barrier.         A:  There is no "code" I am aware of that states what type of tape needs to be used to join 6 mil vapor barrier. That being stated this should be able to be used for that purpose

              Be warned: for heavy jobs, use several layers. The overview says "easy-tear". That makes it easy to work with. But I guess that also means low tensile strength. 40 lbs will cause it to separate. Seems like duct tape should be stronger. It should be in the specifications so you won't be surprised.

                Does not stick to plastic, does not stick to cardboard, does not stick to itself.
                Used it to patch a hole in a vinal shower curtin and to tape it to the wall, came back the next morn and it had peeled off of the plastic, the cardboar and in some places it didn't even stick to itself. Really, spend the extra buck or to for something that will actualy act like tape.
