A:  Thank you for your question and for pointing out this data entry error. Nashua General Purpose Duct Tape is 9 mil thick (or 0.228mm).

A:  It is 0.009 inches (9 mils), not millimeters.

A:  I have not measured it, but it is thin. This is not true "duct tape", it is porous & not nearly as sticky. So ok for some things but if you're trying to seal a duct, this is not appropriate. But it is cheaper by a fair bit, so for general use of tape its fine.

A:  YES TO AN EXTENT

A:  No. Surface cannot not be wet when tape is applied. After a long period of time it seems to not release from light contact with water. I would not expect it to hold up for any length of time underwater. For instance; I tried using it as a temporary patch on a inflatable raft. That failed nearly immediately, despite letting it seal overnight.
