Can the pin be taken out to remove the door or do you have to remove the whole hinge?

Answersjust use the allen wrench that came with it to tighten each hinge, you need to tighten about a 1/4 inch turn at a time you will feel it grab.

The pin is not removable
Even though it says that the pin is removable, it is not. If that's important to you, like if you want to install a door stop that's held in by the pin, don't buy these for that.
Other than that, they're fine. But when the package specifically says "removable pin," and the pins can't be removed, that's a big problem.

I also did not get the "Detailed Instructions" like other have pointed out, I have a feeling mine...
I also did not get the "Detailed Instructions" like other have pointed out, I have a feeling mine was a return because it was already tensioned out of the package. If you happen to be in a similar situation the key is to insert the hex wrench into the top and without turning press it in further. It acts as a button and will eventually disengage the torsion spring and allow the hinge to open so it can be installed like any normal hinge. Once I got past that everything went normal, over all its a descent hinge.
