Questions & Answers

I've already purchased this fire pit--can I purchase the metal fire ring separately?

I'm looking at a similar project, and need only the fire pit ring; the size is perfect for what I need (44" in diameter). I can only get 36" or 48" rings elsewhere. Help?

Customer Reviews

44 in. Random Stone Brown Round Fire Pit Kit is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Value for a product with an upgraded look. This is a HEAVY kit. Each block is sizable and representative of what you might see in a professionally constructed ring by a mason. The main give-away that it is a kit, is that the blocks are all the same size, though the pattern on them gives the promised random stone effect. The top ring really finishes the look, much more so than any of the low-end "retaining wall stone" kits we saw. The only thing you need, not included in the kit are the stones that go between the metal fire ring and the blocks and some for the base (6 x 60lb bags was enough), and some liquid nails (one tube was enough) to secure the top ring to the blocks. Tool wise, you need a couple adjustable wrenches, a level, and shovel to create a level base. It was an afternoon job for two amateurs, who were a little sore, but happy when it was done.

However, with all their with efforts, two of the stones were damaged during shipping. I contacted the company and they were prompt to send out replacement stones, they are expected to arrive today.

Face of stones are deeply profiled to look like stone.Assembly is pretty simple but the blocks are heavy. Recommend gluing the top dress stones to insure they don't tip off (although they are very stable as is).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Firepit! We wanted to build a firepit / patio in our back yard, and after much searching, we decided to go with this Random Stone firepit, primarily for it's size, but also for the design. We wanted something rather large, and the 30 inch ones that we found just weren't cutting it. This was VERY easy to put together using the supplied instructions (and the video on this page) and we were exceptionally pleased with how it turned out when all was said and done. We used pea gravel for the outer part of the ring, and black lava rock for the burn area of the pit. After we build the patio around it, we were even more happy with how everything turned out! We have already gone through ridiculous amounts of wood staying out late, enjoying our new haven! Highly Recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fire pit! Exactly what I wanted!! So happy :) We picked up the pallet of parts at our local Home Depot. Because I have a ramp on my trailer, they were only able to get the pallet barely to my trailer axel, so it rode pretty heavy on the way home. Fortunately I didn't have to go far and could take residential roads. Off-loading it by hand was difficult as each piece is very, very heavy. Used the lawn tractor/trailer rig to move the pieces to the fire pit site (thank heaven for the little trailer - moving these by hand would have been hard). Prepared the site, drew a circle and followed the directions. This went together so easily and quickly. Just make sure your site is level and the rest is really super simple. It looks exactly like the picture, super solid and easy to assemble. We used about 6 bags of pea gravel for the space between the metal ring and the stones and another 6 bags of that reddish lava rock for the center. Also we used about 1 1/2 tubes of landscape concrete cement. Loctite brand. It's solid!! We added a little brick boarder around the base of the fire pit, flagstone and gravel seating area and a small block retaining wall around the perimeter. I wish we were done with the landscaping on the hill behind it, but that's a work in progress! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble and look at I bought this after months of constant nagging from my wife, about how bad she wanted a fire pit. Glad I bought it had it delivered to the store. Kenny from 3019 couldn't have been more helpful when loading. The best part is the smoke bother my wife so she goes inside leaving me in the peace and tranquility of my new backyard escape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! After doing the prep work we proceeded to the Home Depot in our Toyota Four Runner. With the assistance of the Home Depot Staff we loaded it in and brought it Home. We started unloading it at approximately 3:00 in the afternoon. At sunset we started our first fire! Did I mention my wife and I are 61 years old! Very easy to put together and we couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes a little patience ... .but it's well worth it For a prefab kit this is probably as good as it gets. If you assemble this on terra firma, and not concrete, expect to do quite a reasonable amount of assembly, disassembly, and reassembly to get it all level in all directions. Kit ships well packaged. Comes with 2 extra top stones which is good. Watch the video for assembly instructions. Suggestion: get a long level or attach one to 2x4 to ensure you are level across the diameter of the fire pit as you assemble. Being level block by block is not good enough. Once built, it looks great and works great. My only gripe about this pit is that some of the edges and also the top stone undersides have some extra residual concrete from the manufacturing process. If you want it all to fit tight and clean, you 'may' need to do a little chipping and filing to get a snug and even fit. All in all, it's a good product. IMPORTANT: Use reconstituted concrete, virgin rock, drain gravel, or lava rock for the gravel parts of the assembly. Yes, you need quite a bit of gravel to finish the assembly, 6-8 Cubic feet. I would suggest not using river rock or pea gravel as it can pop just like popcorn when it heats up. This DIY kit sure beats the $4k I was quoted to have built by a landscaper. Couldn't be happier.
