Can this power a c pack sleeping machine when power goes out ?

Asked by Kat November 3, 2019

Answer

This is a modified sign wave inverter, most sleeping machines require a pure sign wave inverter. This does not store power, it just transfers power from DC current in your battery into AC current. it will only handle a maximum of 150W per hour power draw. You will have to try your machine to see if it works with it. Please call nature Power at 1800-588-0590 for any more questions.

Hi mof3. Thank you for your question. The Nature Power 150-Watt Battery Powered Portable Power Inverter, is meant to take 12 volt DC power from your vehicles battery and convert it to a usable AC power. You are correct, this unit “Does Not” store power. Battery Powered refers to your car’s battery. This unit must be plugged into a power outlet in your vehicle to receive its power, thus it is “Battery Powered”. The inverter will then let you run your AC powered units up to its limit, but must be plugged into your vehicles 12 V battery. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. Rick_HD_OC

This is a power inverter for use in a vehicle to power one laptop, phone, or anything that has a usb cable or three-prong plug. There are two usb ports and one electric cord plug. Capacity is 150 watts. On a trip, a laptop, two phones can charge as an example. It is a coffee-cup shape; the inverter fits into a cup holder. Power comes from its cord plugged into the cigarette lighter. My setup is two of these so on a long trip, the kids have their laptops, their phones, and we have ours charging. It is small enough to be inconspicuous, and quiet enough so you will not notice it is there. It is portable from one vehicle to another. It is an excellent product at a reasonable price with a year's warranty. There is a cover that flips back; the cover may keep dirt out of the plugs but I am not sure how long the hinge will last. I would rather have the cover than not because I want to keep the unit clean and working. Not sure but I think it only comes in black-not a deal breaker for me. I have another type of inverter, older, and this one is much lighter and much quieter. With a power cord in, the inverter may tilt a bit. They all do that.

This little guys does exactly what I need it to do. On a full charge I can use my USB and charge my cellphone and the shape of it allows me to sit it in my cup holder in my car and in my cup holder on my couch and sofa. How convenient. Then when I am working in my truck I use it to charge my laptop if I’m on a low battery and need to do something really important. I use this as a backup and it it’s a life saver.

Not for use outside
This was advertised as being able to run a string of outside lights. It can do that - FROM MY CAR. It does not store power. It converts it from your car.

We always try to do the best job possible displaying the product and what it is used for. It can be used outdoors but not in inclement weather. It is not weatherproof. You are correct that it is not a power bank but rather a converter for 12 volt DC power to 110 volt AC Power. If you have any other questions, reach out to us at cs@rdkproducts.com and we will gladly help you get the most out of your product. This model has on average 4.5 stars rating and we hope we can convert you as well. Nature Power Tech Support Team NATUREPOWER

Thank you for commenting on your Nature Power Inverter. You are correct, it is not a battery. We are sorry if you thought you were purchasing a portable battery. This is an update to my earlier review. The first inverter that I received only worked for the USB outlet. I am so proud to tell you that Nature Power sent me a replacement free of charge. This device worked perfectly! I love it! It's a great way to have adaptable power right at your fingertips, even when the car ignition is off. Nature Power showed great customer service. Hope you get to have one too!

Recommended, but expecting warranty replacement. Thankfully this item comes with a one year warranty. I received my 150-Watt Battery Powered Portable Power Inverter quickly, but have not been able to get it fully functional, after working with it for 30+ minutes. The first odd thing that I noticed was the device chirped and flashed a green light followed by a quick red flash. I tried to push the on button several times but it was no use. Also the cigarette charger plug seemed to have a sweet spot where it wanted to be held in order to show any life in the lights. However the USB charger worked right away, and I was able to keep my phone charging regardless of the light status. The other noticeable shortcoming was that the outlet would not work at all. I tried the wall adapter for the same usb cord, and tried a can opener. No luck. I was so looking forward to powering a crockpot in my SUV, or travels with two phones charging at once. I love the design and features of the device. I'll wait for a replacement and I'll do another review then. Check back!

This inverter is a nifty little item but it has it's limitations. If you have a device that draws a relatively low amount of amperage, this will work, like a shaver, battery charger, coffee warmer. If you have something that can draw a lot of amperage, then I would not recommend this device. A TV, stereo, or a drill that will draw amperage when you put a heavy load on will cause the device to kickout and force you to replace the fuse. The instructions to replace the fuse is not intuitive and will require a phone call to tech support. The device is a bit pricey, but being that you can place it in a cup holder makes it worth the money!

This 150 watt battery inverter is just what I needed for my portable DVD player. I have another power inverter that I bought about 10 years ago it was very loud you could hear the fan when the dvd player was on. This inverter is very quiet and had to check it to make sure it was on. It fits in the drink holder in the back of the truck and plugs into the adapter. Kids are happy watching movies on the road.
