We do not recommend installation of deck tile over rubber. We only recommend installation over a solid, flat, leveled surface. Such as cement, or an existing wood deck.

If the repaired section is compacted very well and relatively level, I dont see an issue... These tiles fit "loosely together"...meaning they have a certain amount of give in them... I laid them on an uneven old concrete slab and they are rock solid...no problems at all...
