There’s no key? What happens if the WiFi goes out or the batteries are dead?

Yes, you are able to unlock the locking mechanism should you encounter a full connection failure. In order to do so, simply locate a 9V battery and make a quick connection to the battery prongs within the unit for a brief charge. Refer to your handbook for further troubleshooting solutions should you experience future complications.

I just purchased on 1/3/19 and this product has been out for a while so if you’re interested in this you probably think you know what your purchasing. But it’s not what it seems. The Connect that comes with the lock acts as a bridge because the lock doesn’t connect to WiFi(or Zigby or ZWave). I could get the Connect on the Nest app but never could get the lock to connect. I spent hours working on this and doing every trouble shooting method Nest supplied and nothing worked correctly. I had to search the internet and found someone who was able to connect theirs using their hotspot in their cell phone. Once connected the lock would link up no problems, then turn off the hotspot, reload the Connect to the home WiFi from the app and all of a sudden everything works. One day later, a storm rolls through and knocks out the internet for an hour. Everything comes back on but the lock. Now I can’t even factory reset. Only one code works and the lock isn’t even showing up in my Nest app. I’ve had this beautiful device for one day and can tell you it’s not worth the $300! I saw many post on the Nest community app with this complaint and with zero response from Nest for support. I’m uninstalling tomorrow and will replace with a smart lock that’s smart. Save yourself a lot of headache, time, and ALOT of money! All my other Nest products work correctly but this item is supposed to be the latest and greatest. Out of the box you’re flipping a coin to if you’ll have problems are not. I’m so very disappointed because I am in the Nest Ecosystem and planned and saved. Good luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The NEST Yale Lock works well with the NEST Mobile... The NEST Yale Lock works well with the NEST Mobile Application in both unlocking and locking the Door. To lock the door from the outside requires two hands, one finger on the Y button and one to hold the door shut while locking. Google Home Hub will not unlock the door by Voice

I had to google how to reset to default before i got it working. I would give 5 stars if app allowed access to lock from Door bell page. Hard to use both Hello / Yale at the same time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from i rate it average because:- it does not work with... i rate it average because:- it does not work with Amazon echo. its kind of crazy because nest cam and nest thermostats work with amazon echo. also amazon echo works with other connected locks- i cannot connect it either with smartthings which is a zwave hub. even though i spent 2 h trying- half of the time the lock does not go all the way thru and the app says its not close- there is no way to program a routine that would close the door everyday at a certain time

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I highly recommend that you steer clear of any Nest Products. Not only do they have manufacturin... I highly recommend that you steer clear of any Nest Products. Not only do they have manufacturing defects, their customer service team and more so, the management team doesn't care about the consumer. They knowingly distribute defective products to Home Depot. So bad Nest products that Home Depot has decided to distribute to their customers. I'd be curious as to the return rate of the Nest X Lock as I'm sure that will tell the story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced my Kwikset Kevo with this I scrapped my Kevo lock for this one and have been very pleased with it. Everyone has their own code that they can easily remember since I let them choose their own. It works the first time every time and it looks great! I get notifications of who comes and goes and when. Once I made the decision to adopt the Nest ecosystem, this was a no-brainer. Goes well with my Nest Hello, t-stat, camera.
