Can this be shortened to say maybe 6ft?
No its awful, the length isnt even set up for full 4' or 8', and the eyelets above are inward and take up space. do not buy.

Is this product built to be installed on a wall with 16" stud spacing or do you consider this as "irregular spacing"? I read a review from a costumer complaining that your standard is 48" spacing. This is not standard on exterior walls. Making sure.
Hi Claudio, this product can definitely be installed on a wall with 16-inch stud spacing, though it can all be dependent on location and how you plan to install it. It also supports irregular stud spacing. They actually didn’t make this very well for stud spacing. When you follow their directions it’s exactly 48” or 96 if you have studs standard. Well their product is built at that size so it doesn’t work well. You HAVE TO put one side inward from the end.
