You have to buy a sheet of plexiglass or plywood and cut it to fit your window. Then trace the exhaust bracket and cut out a place with a jigsaw to mount it. You'll need to put this in place of your screen, and close the window when you're not using the A/C unit to keep bugs and hot air from coming in. Remember to open the window before you start this up! The plywood looks pretty ghetto but is cheaper than plexiglass and is sturdier. My husband added a screw on drawer pull onto it so pulling it out of the window is easier. You could use adhesive caulk to attach some kind of handle as well. I think he just cut it snug so he didn't have to add brackets to hold it into the window and mar the window opening with holes. We have Andersen casement windows as well and this works for us.

The unit Temperature Range is 60-86 F.
It is pretty loud. But if you're trying to sleep it becomes white noise, and it does cool really well so I personally do not care that it is loud.
Just realized the direction doesn't matter, not my brightest moment. The real question is how small the piece that goes in to the window can be adjusted to. Like I stated earlier, I have very narrow windows that are about 14" wide.
If the tank is full, “FL” will appear on the display to indicate that it needs to be drained.
