I have no idea if it will work with the Veranda brand grooved composite. These hidden T-clip fasteners are designed for Composite Decking by NewTech Wood so no guarantee.
About 1/4 inch, the width of the screw head.
Hello Pete. We appreciate your interest in NewTechWood decking. The gaps between each boards with the clips is 1/4" inches. If you have any further questions please email us at inquiry@newtechwood.com.
Hi! Yes, the screws for the T-clips are stainless steel. Please reach out to inquiry@newtechwood,com for further clarification, or if you have any other questions.
It's easiest to lay out all the planks before fastening them. The fasteners fit into 2 adjacent grooved edges and you can select as many fasteners as you have joists and slide them into position from one end. I used a couple of wedges to muscle the boards as close to each other as the fastenersJWW will permit.
Overall length is 1 5/16 inches, of which 3/8ths is the screw shank.
Each deck board and space were 5.665 inches wide. Can't find this measurement in any of the manufacturer detail. Learned by actually installing the product.
This innovation is a marvelous method to install the NewTechWood product. The T Clip simply fits in the groove on the side of each board. Once you have the board lined up in position , you simply use your driver to lightly screw the clip into the joist. One the next board is in position with the clips , go back to the prior board and firmly screw the clip in to finish. The T Clips are below the surface of the finished board, no holes to finish or seal, only visible when looking between the boards at the joist, nearly hidden. I'd include a picture, but we had our first snow this year, and the deck is covered.
One spacer on each joist. So your count will depend first on whether or not your framing is 16 inches on center or 12 inches (the latter spacing is recommended for steps) and then on the square footage of your project.. Put another way, it's not so much the length of your boards, but how many joists, including sisters, you have to traverse, and then how many times you have to repeat that (remembering these boards are 5.5 inches wide and the space between them, when using T-clips, is about 3/8 of an inch).
A year late, but yes, this product is fine for pressure treated wood contact.
