          A:  I don't see any reason that it can't. I like it came in very handy. I saw some imitators that did not seem as sturdy as this. It releases just the right amount of smoke to your meat. I still use charcoal, because, that is the only way to grill to me.

                    put this on the flavor bars of the Weber Genesis gas grill and worked in about 15 minutes. I didn't soak the wood chunks, but you may want to soak wood chips if you want.

                      Long Heat Time
                      Constructed very well but I am not sure it is cast-iron. I did return this item because of how long it took to get hot enough for the wood chips to smoking.

                      Cast Iron maybe, but whatever seasoning coat on it come off after first use. I used natural wood pellets inside to smoke ribs and chicken. Interior coating flaked off. I tried a week later and same only worse. Sadly I was disappointed and needed to get on with my cook out, so I used a heavy duty Aluminum pan with HD foil on top. Poked holes and filled with pellets. Got smoke faster and longer out of that than the Cast Iron Box. For the price, it's not worth it to me.

                        does not smoke even when put on burner tubes of gas grill. Heated it up for 1hr, but needs higher temps which defeats the purpose (i smoke at 350°, higher temps dry out the meat)

Its recommended to smoke the wood chips for a minimum of 1 hour and keep them moist to create the steam or smoking. Its also recommended to cook on a low to medium heat so it does take time for the box to heat up.

                        Works great easy to load and easy to clean out. I’m buying another to either generate a thicker smoke or I could delay placing the 2nd in to lengthen the smoking time. You can also add wine, whiskey or whatever to your wood because it will not leak out.
