Exploded and damaged 2nd use
1st use Big temp swings and inaccurate display temp. 2nd attempt I used an oven thermometer to get the temp in the correct range but still inaccurate and big swings high and low. The Bluetooth wouldn’t stay connected and then the smoker began emitting a THICK smoke. As I went to inspect, it flashed over and exploded damaging the latch and bent the door. Luckily, the glass didnt break as I was in front of the smoker. I will definitely be returning this and looking for something else.

Horrible
First time smoking a pork shoulder on this 1140 vertical smoker. The temp swing is crazy. I have to keep an eye on it because it will shut down for no reason at all. Not sure I would recommend this ever. I will have to go back to a quality smoker very soon, it is only 1 year old.

Smoker caught fire
The augur got jammed up and once it released pellet it caught fire. Would not recommend this smoker.

Probes don't read read right
The probes say it's hotter then it is. I use different probes and I set the smoker to about 280 to get about an average of 220 inside the smoker. Buts it's a great smoker lots of room

U get what you pay for. Move along. Disappointing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smoker works ok on short smokes. Thats the only reason it got 2 stars. Smoker errors out about every 8 hours, err2, err4. And shuts itself off. I only know the error code at all, because ive watched it. So no long smokes, no pulled pork, no briskett, no turkey. Makes the large interior and gigantic pellet hopper next to useless. The app is even worse. Unless you keep your phone awake, and on the device page of the app, it disconnects from the smoker. Which, in hind sight is not all that bad, since it does NOT send notifications when your temp probes reach their set temp, or the smoker temp is far out of range, or encounters an error (see above) it will NOT turn on the smoker, so no early morning preheat with coffee. You are required to physically press the start button, so i recommend keeping the smoker close to the house. Enjoy your kitchen smelling like smoke. The lack of cleaning port to empty the ash is a big turnoff too. The necissity to vacuum out your smoker before each use is offputting, to say the least. The list of problems with the app is entirely too long to list, and honestly its easier to watch the front display, which isnt that awful, because you need to keep it close anyway. Just forget the app, its next to useless anyway.

Can’t trust this smoker
I can’t recommend this smoker to anyone. I’ve used it a handful of times and every single time it has turned itself off completely or given an error code and stopped heating without sending any notification. So far I’ve lost about ten pounds of brisket and a Boston butt to this piece of junk. It has a ton of features and seems decently constructed but a smoker that won’t keep cooking is completely useless

This is our first Pellet Grill Smoker and we were *intimidated*. After using it twice, we're totally comfortable with it and LOVE the finished product! Note it does require some assembly and a required pre-cook "burn in" cycle before using. Our first trial involved a pork tenderloin, chicken quarters, and salmon fillets (skin on). The salmon cooked in under an hour, tenderloin in about 4 hours, and chicken took almost 6 hours. Everything was moist and delicious! The smoker used around 5 lbs of pellets. We cooked a 12-lb Beef Brisket the second time which took about 10 hours, using less than 10 lbs of pellets. The probes really help is determining doneness rather than depending on "estimated cook times". The smoker does involve more clean-up than our propane grill but wipes down fairly easily after every use. We HIGHLY recommend getting a smoker cover (optional) since this smoker has electronic controls. We're going to try pork rib racks next so the intimidation factor has been defeated!

I'm pretty happy with this smoker. Assembly is easy (not too much to do for it), and once you're set up it's a great. Lets start with the smoker itself. It's on four very strong casters, so moving it around is easy and they lock in place. The "chimney" has a felt gasket on the bottom of it so smoke only goes through the top, there's a stop for the fuel bin so it doesn't flop over, and a few other really nice details. I wish the locking mechanism on the door was a litlte easier to use, but I like that it's adjustable. There are five shelves inside so there's plenty of room for whatever you're going to smoke. The control panel is simple and there's always a display of the temperature. You can toggle back and forth between probe temps and smoker temp. The smoker comes with two probes, but it can run four at once. The fuel bin is huge, so if you needed to you could load up an entire day's worth of fuel and not have to worry about it. The pellets are moved into the fire pit via a rotary, and this is where we need some attention. If you're setting up on an uneven surface (I had it in our driveway), then you need to load more fuel than you will need because otherwise the pellets will eventually stop falling into the feeder due to the angle the smoker is at. This is not a big deal, but it's something I learned the hard way in the middle of a smoke.
The wifi connection is the key to this smoker. Once you download the app, you have to set up an account (of course but this adds no benefit to the user), and then pair your smoker to your phone (I use the iOS version). Having paired a multitude of items to my phone and home wifi before I will say that this had by far and away the easiest and quickest pairing of any device I've ever owned.
The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the ability to monitor your smoke from anywhere is great (we went out for lunch in the middle of a smoke and I was able to continue to watch the meat). You can use the app to adjust the temp of the smoker, the desired temp of your meats, and set a timer if needed. Between the wifi access and the massive pellet bin this is very much a hassle free machine.
Overall the smoke is great and I love this. I just wish I had a bigger family so I could fill every shelf without fear of waste.

Excellent starter smoker - easy to use and GREAT results!!
I can see how people get obsessed with using their smokers once they get into it – it was so good, and pretty easy too. The hardest thing about using the smoker was the assembly and cleaning time, the rest was pretty simple. We used a blend of pellets (Traeger Pro Blend, oak, hickory and cherry) on a full rack of ribs and over the course of 8 hours it used about half a bag of pellets so we didn’t run the risk of running out. The smoker is electrically operated and releases pellets as needed for consistent smoke and heat levels. The app is pretty awesome to connect to so you can track temperature, use the timer, etc. with your smartphone. Biggest heads up: make sure the gasketed door seal is super tight. I had to tighten it all the way down for smoke to not escape. And make sure it is level too! Then find a recipe, throw some meat in there and drool all day as it cooks!!
