It is a 18 foot nylon strap with a heavy duty buckle that has a rubber protector on the back side of it. This is a very easy strap to use and would be a good replacement for a ratchet strap which some people find hard to use. The model I got holds a 700 lb. load and it has two different ways to install it, a loop configuration and a lockout configuration, both are easy to do and comes with directions and pictures on the back of the package. This is a good strap to have on hand for a very fast way to secure a load.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Holds tight and won’t let go I bought 2 pairs of the 12 and 18 feet for attaching kayaks to the roof rack a couple years ago. These were great and the whole time held strong. In my experience so far they don’t let go very easily, which is good until you want to unload. After 2 years of use they have been retired not because they ever crapped out but because it took me longer to unload as the friction from the small jaw space won’t allow quick removal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple design, fully functional I've used many cam buckle straps over the years and these are by far my favorite. The buckles well built, the nylon straps are top notch and overall they are just thoughtfully designed. What makes me say that? Well, the buckle pads are color coded AND best of all.... they are attached in place. Why is that a good thing? Well, if you have multiple sizes all bundled together, the color coding makes it quick and easy to differentiate between the sizes. Having the buckle pad locked in place is a game changer in that it moves WITH the buckled when you winch the strap tight. Other straps that have a "floating" buckle pad all tend to move around when you tighten. The added bonus is that the straps have a size tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and secure For a recent research project I was required to suspend a 60lbs object high above the ground at several exact height (down to the centimeter). The CamJam system was perfect for me and my team's needs. We were able to confidently set multiple heights and not worry about slippage during high velocity impacts. At the same time, the ability to adjust the CamJam to the exact position needed was ideal. If it is good enough for research, it is good enough for anything day to day activities can throw at it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I have one of these in 12 foot and I couldn't resist getting an 18 footer. Now I can take all those old ratchet style straps out of my trunk where they are all tangled up with my jumper cables. These have much stronger straps, are easier to operate and they are even easier to store. They roll up easily and then I wrap them with a rubber band. No more tangled mess!

What I like are the high quality of the materials and the ease the buckle may be tightened and loosened. It may be the best strap buckle I've seen. What is unfamiliar to me is using a loop with the buckle at the center rather than two straps with hooks connected using the buckle. Effectively the length of the strap across an object is cut in half due to the loop being required. You also need to remove the strap from the buckle, wrap it around what you want to tighten down, and thread the strap into the buckle. If this had two straps, this buckle, and hooks on the ends it would be the best product on the market.
