A:  Jim appreciate the question. At the end of the day this mats are foam and when you put enough weight on it the foam will compress and the ends will pop up. Also certain equipment puts concentrated weight in specific spots and that can also cause mats to pop up or leave permanent marks. My usual recommendation is two fold.     A:  yes each tile comes with two trim pieces. Just note you will have to trim the edge pieces with scissors since we do not make corners

      A:  Yes, we did exactly this. The mats do sink into the carpet a bit but adjust with time; the outer edges will lift a little but then flatten out.

          Check your thickness! I bought 3 different ones to match up to my old Norsk mats.
          They have a .50, .75, .79, I needed the .79inch. It took me three times to get it right, Other than that, they are great mats for a indoor, shoe, no shoe gym

          This Norsk foam interlocking reversible floor mate is a fairly standard foam tile. With that said, what does sticks out about this particular foam floor mat is that the pack of four provides two corners on each tile. This makes the tiles flush, which helps with the overall clean look of the interlocking floor mat. The fact that the floor mat is reversible also allows for these tiles to be used in a variety of settings for a variety of purposes. We are currently using the mats for the work-out space in our home, but we could easily see the mat being used in our garage or in our basement, too.
