I bought this as an insert below my TV. The heat comes out of the top! How can it be called an insert if the heat is coming out of the top of the unit? The heat should come out of the front. It was an easy return to the store.

Heat is at the bottom, not front.
Please read : The heat vent for this fireplace is on THE BOTTOM. If you are looking for a recessed electric fireplace, the stock photos for this items are deceiving. If you dont want to recess this fireplace, it looked very nice when we took it out of thr box. We ultimately returned it though.

needs to vent to the top
When you look at this, never would you think you can not insert it - it actually can not be inseted and sits out from the wall. Not good customer service at manufacturers help line...
