Answersstart off with soft butter and it will melt from the heat and steam as it drips through the holes on top.

Overall pretty great. Others have commented that the nonstick coating flaked off after a few uses, but I've used about 15 times now and haven't experienced this. They may be putting the stirring arm on backwards is the only conclusion I can draw. It would be 5 stars if the bowl was top-rack dishwasher safe. The heating plate is not super convenient to clean, but is at least well-sealed so you can wash and rinse it in the sink. To make movie theater like popcorn, I use 2 tablespoons of Snappy Popcorn Coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of Flavacol (both available online). Would recommend.

I bought this thinking that since it had a removable base it would be easier to clean. But in fact it's a flimsy design as the base just floats on the unit and trying to flip it into the bowl without burning yourself proved to be a hazard. It did not pop that well either.

I can't believe how much better this popper is than the previous Stir Crazy I had to replace because i cracked the top and it was about 2/3 the cost of this new popper to just replace the top. Only one kernel didn't pop in my first tow batches with this new popper.

I am getting ready to purchase a new Popcorn Popper. Read reviews. Why does this popper not like Organic Popcorn. ???? That is all I use too. My Other popper did not have a problem with it and it made the best popcorn I have ever eaten, but the non-stick coating keeps wearing off where the kernels get stuck under the moving arm and scrape pop after pop. I am afraid of the ingestion of the coating. They told me it does not hurt anything. I have a question, does it brown the kernels before popping. That is what makes it delicious. I will wait for someone to respond before my purchase.
