160° White Solar LED Motion Outdoor Activated Light

After a week, this is better than expected. I had tried 2 different brands of a Solar LED Motion Outdoor Activated Lights prior to this model and never had very good results. This lights up the swingset (15 - 20' away) and pool (30 - 50' away) very nicely without being a blinding light. Very happy with this purchase although my 5 year old son told me after I installed it it looks like a happy face with googly eyes. Now thats all I can see...

Works perfectly. The Solar Panel needs to be mounted as specified in a location where it receives full sunlight - for my application I mounted it on the end of a gutter with a block of wood as backing as the roof overhang would have kept sunlight off of the panel

Novolink is easy to install & works great. Lights up my driveway with light and adds security to my home. If you are looking for a solar LED motion outdoor light? Do not pass this one up. I would highly recommend.

It is an environmentally friendly gizmo I was informed that my response was not appropriate, because it was too short I am a professor and could easily ask you to send me a two page, single spaced, explanation for this purpose. I installed this light over the breaker box at our campgrounds to provide light when the breaker pops. It came with all mounting hardware and screws. The screws were a bit on the cheap side, I stripped one of them and recommend using a couple deck screws to mount the bracket. The brightness of the light isn't super bright but it lights up enough to allow you to see what you are doing. The overall feel and finish of the product feels like cheap plastic. One other note to mention is that the light doesn't snap into the mounting bracket it just sits on it and is held by gravity. A strong wind could possibly blow it off the mount.They need to add some kind of lock mechanism to the mounting system.

This LED motion light is pretty good. Light output is sufficiently bright for my purposes and, since it is all self-contained, installation was a breeze. I like the fact that the lights and motion sensor can all be aimed independently. Some lights have a limited range of movement for both. As mentioned, light output is bright. The specs say it puts out 500 lumens, but I'm not sure if that's per light or combined. Color temperature is 5000K, which looks spot on. I like the fact that sensitivity to motion and light can be adjusted as well as duration of the light being on. Installation was a breeze. The instructions don't mention what drill bit is needed for the light mount anchors. I ended up using a 5/16" masonry bit since it was mounted on a cinder block wall. The little bracket the light hangs on isn't the best as the light simply falls into place - there's no clip or other mechanism to hold it down, which means the whole thing tends to move if you adjust the lights, motion sensor, or controls. I mounted the solar panel on my DirecTV satellite mount using zip ties and ran the power cable down to the light. There was a whole lot of excess cable, which is nice in case I ever decide to move the light around. My only real gripe with the light is the construction of it all. The solar panel and light's plastic body both feel a little cheap. The light is under an eave, so I'm not too worried about it being exposed to the elements. Lets see how well the solar panel holds up to the South Florida sun.

Perfect solution for my shed which has no electricity. I really wanted a motion detection spotlight on my shed and this was the answer! Very easy to install. Comes with everything you need and very good, clear instructions. The light is very bright and you can set the sensitivity of the motion detector to low, medium or high. You can also set the intensity of the 'lux' (of the lumens). And you can set the amount of time you would like the lights to stay on. The solar panel swivels in every direction and so do the spot lights. Very convenient. In my case, I have a small outdoor shed and so I placed the light and the solar panel close together. But, if you have a larger area, there is a good length of cord (connects the panel to the light) so that you can place probably exactly where you would like to. I am very happy with this light!

We were looking for a solution to illuminate our driveway so that the gate (which is about 30' from the house) and the driveway are illuminated when we drive up to the house at night. This solar spotlight was exactly what we were looking for, easy to install and set up and has plenty of brightness and distance from the LED lamps. It gives plenty of light to our gate which is about 30' from the spotlights and partially obstructed by a tree. While 500 lumens is about the equivalent of a conventional 40 watt light bulb, the LED light is very bright and effective and reaches a good distance. Once installed, there are some settings that are typical to the other motion lights we have installed - Delay time for how long the lamps remain illuminated once motion is detected (1 - 15 mins.), Sensitivity (range in which motion is detected) and Lux (how much ambient light is required before the lights will illuminate). In our case, we set the timer to 5 mins, sensitivity to medium and Lux to medium which allowed the solar lights to work even though they are close to a pair of 'hard wired' outdoor lights fitted with a motion sensor which also illuminate as we get closer to the house. The angle and direction of both lamps is fully configurable to enable a wide area to be illuminated. Installation is very simple and all that is needed is a small bubble level, a drill and a screwdriver. The solar panel comes with around 15' of electrical wire allowing the solar panel to be placed in the optimum place to capture sunlight. In our case we installed the solar panel beneath guttering on the soffit on a south facing wall directly above where we mounted the spotlight. Despite being partially obstructed by a small pine tree about 12-15' away, the panel had no difficulties charging the battery. The dark grey finish is also nice and discrete making the spotlight less obvious. One feature I really appreciated was the built in loop on the rear of the solar panel which allowed the unused wire to be tied up using the supplied wire tie resulting in a tidy install without the spare wire being draped everywhere. The lamp comes with a 12 month warranty and the rechargeable battery is replaceable although there are no details of how to get a replacement battery in the Novolink website.

This solar light has some great features like being able to aim the lights in different directions The Lux setting is great so other light sources won't affect it's operation plus a one minute to fifteen minute timer. I have the light inside of my shed because I don't have electricity so when I walk in the shed the light turns on so I can see everything. The light comes with a one year warranty and it looks like the rechargeable battery can be replaced and ordered threw the company. The light will not work during the day so set your Lux adjustment correctly so it will come on at dusk.

As you can see in the attached picture, I mounted this light above our basketball pole in our driveway. It gives a good amount of light without the hassle of running power cords. I have two other lights like this in other areas of the yard and they have worked flawlessly for a few years now. It is really set and forget. The installation was very easy. Anyone can do it. Just face the solar panel south for best charging. I highly recommend this light for any area in your yard that needs coverage at night. You will find it very easy to install and it won't add to your electric bill!
