Clipped Head Framing Nailer provides cost effective speed and power for handling any project involving framing, remodeling, subfloors, sheathing, roof decking, fencing, pallet and crate assembly, furniture manufacturing, and truss work. This air powered framing nailer is compatible with 10-12-Gauge 34° paper collated clipped head framing nails from 2 in. to 3-1/2 in. A simple pull-back pusher makes the magazine easy to reload when the anti-dry-firing threshold is met, designed to reduce damage on internal components and extend the life of the air powered tool. The dual mode trigger allows for bump or sequential firing, and the no mar safety contact tip eliminates damage to your work surface. The durable magnesium body and aluminum cylinder create a rugged and lightweight nail gun ideal for use over long shifts. A comfort grip handle helps reduce fatigue while increasing control and accuracy of nail placement. The tool-free depth adjustment is controlled by simply turning a wheel below the trigger with your finger. An air filter/anti-dust cap keeps internal components free of dust and debris. Air tool oil and adjustment tools are included. The Pneumatic 34° 3-1/2 in. The Numax SFR3490 will shoot ANY brand of 30-34 Degree Framing nails ranging 2" to 3-1/2" long. Your local Home Depot will carry some you can use as long as you're in a 30-34 degree market. If you are not you may have to order them online.

Which one is lighter the 34° or the 21° framer?

Answers

I do not know but I will say the lighter the gun the more it will kick back. Too light is just as bad as too heavy. It is a good weight for reducing kick back.

Will these nails work? Paslode Hot dipped galvanized/ exterio2"x. 113 " ring shape paper tape degree or whatever unsure

Answer

Yes, any paper taped framing nail from 30 to 34 degree falling within the length requirements will work in this nailer.

I have a circa 2003 Porta Cable FC350 but i purchased this nail gun to have a backup before building my son a 12x16 out building. I used 2x6x16 Southern Yellow Pine DSS (Dense) wood for both the walls and floor joist (hardest pine to nail that exist). I also used 3.25 inch ring shank nails. We have only done the floor so far putting the 2x6x12 cross joist 12" on center and using 3 nails per joist into the outer 16 foot piece. I decided to use this nailer exclusively because it was new and under warranty and I need to do a good test during the return period. We assembled this floor and installed 3/4" plywood for the flooring and this nailer never jammed or missed a beat but we were giving the compressor a run for it's money. It is a great product for the price or any price. NuMax, if you are listening, The only thing that makes this less of a nail gun than my FC350 Porta Cable is the fact that is does not come with a case as the Porta Cable did.

Framing nail guns tend to be rather large in size, but the 34 degree angle on the nail tray will help out in the tighter places. It uses the cliphead style of nails. The gun is fairly simple to use, no assembly is required. Stick some nails in the tray, plug it into your air compressor and you are ready to go. It seems durable and I am sure it will last me a long time. The only complaint I have is that it did not come with a case. If the tool came with a case I would have given it five stars. Without a case it makes it awkward to store on a shelf with all my other tools that have cases. I will probably end up making a case for it.

The instructions said start it at 90 psi and it did not sink the 3.5 inch nails fully. I adjusted the depth fully both directions and it made no difference. I increased the pressure to 105 psi and it came closer, but was still inconsistent. Could be operator error, but the instructions did not help me figure it out at all. I am pretty mechanical and own a finish nailer and a pin nailer without challenges. ???
