I am assuming you can turn this fan on evening if not showering? If low humidity but high stink I still want to be able to turn the fan on.
Asked by: stinkfree
Yes, you do have the capability to turn the switch on for that situation. Two wire manual operation for odor control - Turns fan ON when power line through wall switch is cycled ON, OFF and back ON. If you have further technical or installation questions, please contact our Broan Technical Support Department at 1-800-637-1453 between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM (CST) Monday-Friday.

In the Description it says not to install this fan on the wall any other way but facing the connector UP, so why do you show the picture facing RIGHT? IM BAFFLED because I really like the looks of this ventilator, and yet its telling me I cant face it RIGHT which is what the picture depicts. HELP!
Asked by: DAVID
The picture is right facing because that is the orientation if it is installed in the ceiling. For installation assistance, please contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151

NuTone InVent Series 110 CFM Wall/Ceiling Installation Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Humidity Sensing, ENERGY STAR*, White is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from This unit, with features I like, was a disappointment for my retrofit. I installed a small pull-chain exhaust fan above my shower quite a few years ago—the first in my 1960 home. I got this new unit because of its two neat features: 1) an adjustable humidity sensor on/off, and 2) light. I was surprised and confused that you have to disassemble it in order to install it. It’s also a couple of inches larger than the old one, so I would have had to cut more wallboard. Seems easy but isn’t—that means going into the attic and messing up my added insulation. The clincher though was the electrical hook up. This new one has a 4-wire prewired connector, which makes no sense with my old wiring. In the end, I decided the 2 features just weren’t the trouble, so I didn’t continue with the retrofit. If you’re doing a new install, it’s a nice unit to consider.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just really not that powerful I installed this model bathroom exhaust fan and from the start not pleased. I have to hit my bathroom switch 2-3 times to get the fan to turn on, doesn't move air that great still foggy mirrors and air I have a relatively small bathroom. Would not recommend especially for the price its moves more air than my 20year old bathroom exhaust fan but not by much at all.. disappointed

The bathroom has a shower and toilet that are separated by a door, with the exhaust fan in the area with the toilet. While this is nice for the toilet, there was nothing in the bathroom for the shower. I noticed the walls were sweating when my wife takes a long, hot shower, so installing an exhaust fan for the shower was a no brainer. I had this wired in with the lights and wanted it to be at about 60% RH. This works perfectly. If we are in the bathroom but not showering, the fan stays off. Once we start showering, the fan kicks on. I had the exhaust hooked up to the line for the toilet exhaust fan. If you go this route, you need to make sure your existing fan has a back draft protection, otherwise you might have that humid air leak out of the existing fan. Lastly, the fan is not noisy and seems to move a decent amount of air. Overall, this is a great exhaust fan!

First, the template for cutting the ceiling hole was almost a half inch too big for the fan. In practice the flange of the fan just about reached the edge of the sheetrock, but if I'd cut the hole a bit too big it wouldn't have. Second, in these days when everyone is concerned about airtightness for energy efficiency, where is the gasket that should go between the fan flange and the sheetrock? Or where is the screw tab that would clamp the fan flange against the sheetrock to minimize air leakage? I feel there are some pretty obvious ways to improve this product.

Easy replacement to our existing bathroom exhaust fan that conked out just before our vacation last month. Luckily the ducts were the same size so we only had to remove the old fan and install the new one. It was easy and a huge improvement over our old fan! Super quiet compared to what we were use to. I really like the humidity sensor control and the timer control to be able to set how long the fan will run when it senses humidity from 5 to 60 minutes. Our bathroom is an interior space with no windows so it can get humid in there. This fan has the Energy Star rating, looks great and works great for moving air and humidity. Operates at 110 CFM and a quiet 1.0 sone. Stated to help prevent mildew and can manage moisture in rooms up to 100 sq. ft. The only thing I would have added to this design is to add a light and night light option.

The housing was identical so the swap was easy. The spec on exhaust line size is identical too. Despite this fan being 1.0 sone rating, I measure around 45 dB (~3 sone) at 1 m.I like the features, but it is louder.

Very easy to do and works great. The humidity sensor function is great for when the kids don’t turn on the fan when showering.
