The Insta-Plumb 1-1/2 in. P-Trap allows for a faster and easier install with no nuts, washers, tools or glue needed. The simple push to install, press to release connections of 1-1/2 in. Insta-Plumb products connect quickly to 1-1/2 in. O.D. size plastic drain pipes and are great for hard-to-reach or confined areas under a sink. The pipes are removable/reusable with an integrated press release collar and can be re-positioned for perfect alignment. This kit features a stainless steel grip ring that holds the connection tight and an O-ring for a leak-free seal so you can install with confidence. Combine this item with other Insta-Plumb products to complete your under sink drainage project quickly, easily and reliably. It is not for use with brass tubing, pipes under pressure or potable water.

easy to install
This is a regular p-trap mostly used for bathroom and kitchen sinks. What makes this one unique is it features a "push-in" connection for the sink drain tube which is often where the connection is the most problematic. You just push the sink drain into the p-trap and the special connector makes a water tight seal. You do need the connections to attach the trap to the wall drain.

Love the new connections
I love this new kind of trap. I flip houses so I’m always dealing with strange plumbing set ups. It’s gotten much easier with these new types of attachments that have flexible options and easier to connect pieces. I can’t speak for how long this will last but it’s very high-quality and I imagine it will last a long time, it’s also easy to take apart if you need to get a clog it out. Overall I’m very happy with this product.

Great product
I like the fact that this trap does not need any tool to install. The ease of installation makes the product best for DIYers. Because of that, it is very easy to install this in places of very small space. Removing it is equally easy, so it is very reusable. The stainless steel grip ring makes a tight connection. A good seal is achieved by an O-ring. The finished product is neat and nice looking. It can only be used on plastic drain pipes. Brass tubing should not be used with this product. Also, it is not suitable for applications with pressure, or potable water. Overall, this is a high quality product.

Clever design to easy plumbing installation with no tools or glue!
Super easy to install this PVC P-Trap with no tools, messy glue or acrobatics to get into tight spaces. Definitely the "Next Generation" in plumbing installation. The instructions are easy to follow, and I had no issues with the installation, and no leaks with the O-ring. Very clever design, which can even be removed and reused on your next project.

Nice Quality and features
A p-trap is a p-trap, right? Not in this case. The OATEY 1-1/2 in. PVC P-Trap with Insta-Plumb Technology has a unique feature that increases ease of installation with the "gripe" feature that simply and securely slides onto the sink drain pipe followed by a normal completion of the installation. This speeds the install process with a quality made p-trap that completes a sink project. Highly recommended for your consideration.

Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve installed a couple of these already, so I am familiar with this product. The Oatey P-Trap is very easy to install and the push/release valve was a nice new feature. I was concerned that it would be a weak point and spring a leak but it is very secure. The only improvement that I see, is that it would benefit from being longer pipe. In most bathroom sink installs, you would undoubtedly need a 6 in. extension to meet the sink drain. It still works really well though.

Quick and easy
I was excited to use this P Trap for a kitchen sink remodel. This Oatey 1 and 1/2 P Trap is so easy to use. You simply mark a line 1 and 1/4 from end of tube, firmly push tubes together and push until the mark is reached. This system is very similar to the Shark Bite brand push fittings. One word of caution is to make sure you mark and cut the pipe that is going into the P Trap straight

All plumbing pipes should be insta-plumb
As I was on the floor hooking up the drain, my thought was, "All plumbing pipes should be Inst-plumb," because it's so easy; much easier than the plastic washer and tighten method where you never know if you've put the washer the right way.
With this P-trap, you will need a straight piece coming down from the drain to hook it onto because it wont hook onto the drain itself. (See pics) After the P-trap is on, you will need to connect the rest of the pipes in the regular way, which is why I say, "They should all be Insta-plumb." It's so easy.
P.S. If you've ever used the "new way" to connect water pipes. (I can't mention the brand name), where they just push together and hold on, this is the same kind of thing, but no tool is required to pull apart these drain pipes. It's very convenient.

Advanced connections!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to use this new style P-trap assembly so that I could be more confident that my connections would be more leak resistant. I wasn’t disappointed. Not only are these new style connections more leak resistant, they are also a stronger connection that holds the P-trap assembly firmly in place.
