Oatey Fast Set Open Closet Flange Product

Oatey Solder

Soldering is the most common method for connecting joints in copper water lines. The best soldered joints come from the best cleaning and fluxing products, as well as a careful technique. Oatey built its reputation on its solder products, with generations of professional plumbers counting on Oatey solder products for lead and lead-free applications to meet their local plumbing codes.

The Highest Quality Plumbing Solder, Flux and Cleaning Products

Oatey Solder

Designed for a variety of applications, Oatey solder can be used to sweat joints in copper, stainless steel, brass-alloy, chrome-alloy, galvanized steel and cast-iron piping systems.

Oatey Flux and Solder Pastes

Oatey fluxes and pastes, in formulas including water soluble and tinning, etch and remove foreign material such as dirt, surface oxidation and impurities from copper surfaces. Without flux, solder will not flow into the joint. Thus, filling the void between the pipe and fitting provides a watertight seal.

Solder Accessories

Oatey offers solding accessories such as brushes, flame protectors, abrasive cloths, and pipe and fitting cleaning tools that are critical for copper installation.

The acid brushes worked as expected. I used them to apply solder flux to some 1/2" copper i was repairing. I only used it once so can't speak to how well they hold up to extended use. Nor did use them with any solvents to see if they deteriorated.

    3" long brushes
I had gone to the store to buy this but was really annoyed that they were not 5" long as the description listed but only 3" long which was too short for my use. The picture is also wrong. I ended up buying the single brush which had been listed as being 3" long but turned out to be 6" which was exactly what I needed.
