Spec, says 30lbs maximum, must this be achieved with the nail that goes into the stud? What if no stud, just into the drywall? what would be the max weight? The spec. no stud is necessary... Thanks.

If the mirror I would like to hang is 50 lbs then should I use 2 of the 30lb hooks?

Definitely not. The pound ratings are not cumulative. If your mirror weighs 50lbs then I would use 75lb hooks at a minimum (I'd recommend 100lb hooks) if you nail it into a stud. If you are not nailing into a stud than I would choose an alternative means of hanging the mirror. Even the 100lb hooks would not suffice in that case.
