Would this work as a wood deck floor protector for a rocking chair. Chair is causing wear on the wood deck. Maybe a thicker sheet necessary? If not appropriate for such use, any suggestions for alternatives. Thanks.
Asked by: Rich
Rich, The acrylic would make the rocker slide around. Get one of those mats they use under office chairs. You could even glue a carpet remnant on the back side for more protection. Dee Dee

Can I use this product outdoor...close-up my patio for winter?

Can I use this product outdoor...close-up my patio for winter?
Asked by: Nise
At last; an easy question to answer. Yes you can use these sheets outdoors. I made "storm" windows and door covers with this material. I used mirror mounting brackets and self-adhesive weather stripping fastened on opposite sides for mounting. This plastic is very thin and flexible. However, it is also brittle when cut. For that, I used a dremel saw with the wood/plastic cutting abrasive wheel, on low speed. Drilling needs to be done very slowly for the same reason. My 'storm" windows are now in their third year. They show some scratching from handling but still work well

Is this clear enough to replace window glass and will Home Depot cut it for me?

Asked by: Claryc
When new, yes it is clear enough to replace window glass. But it is not as strong as glass. It gets marked up much easier than glass. I would not recommend such a use. I do not know if Home Depot will cut it for you.

36 in. x 48 in. x .093 in. Acrylic Sheet is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 169.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but could be stored better The acrylic sheet is very sensitive to nicks and scratches. I looked at all the sheets of this size before I took one to purchase. All of the sheets in the slot for this size were damaged on the corner. Also I think the price of acrylic is too expensive and could probably buy a piece of glass. But it would be nice if the store was able to cut acrylic and glass. Lowe's is able to do this and I wound up having to buy another sheet but Home Depot couldn't cut it for me so went to Lowe's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I can't believe it is so easy. I bought this plexi-glass to replace the windows in my garage that were broken out from wayward tennis balls and basketballs. I cut this easily with a blade from a Dremel like tool. It was not as brittle as the lighter thinner pieces and seems to be very sturdy as replacement glass. It was clear and easy to clean and the protective film did its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Way to Buy This Product I wanted to custom frame a poster that is going over my bed so did not want to use glass. To order this item through the framer would have cost twice as much. Reading the reviews I learned that customers purchasing this in a store had a hard time finding one that hadn't been damaged or cracked. Having it shipped directly to the store (in complex protective packaging) meant it came in pristine condition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to work with I'd rather cut this myself because then I can make sure the measurement is exact. The easiest way to cut this is on a table saw using a 120 tooth blade. Do not remove the backing film. Draw a line where the cut is to be. Cover it with masking tape. I use this acrylic product on home built picture frames and it works extremely well.

I used two of these on my balcony so that my dog won't leap out between the wide open bars. She can sit and watch out the "window" now safely and I also don't have the problem of pigeons perching on the bars. You can clean them easily with water and liquid soap and they last a long time, and I attached them to the railing with clear packing tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease I had to cut and drill this Acrylic Sheet and it was very easy. The first piece I cut I was a little nervous, but after that everything was smooth sailing. Plus the price on these sheets could not be passed up for the job. I have been recommending these sheets to anyone who starts to talk about their need for plexiglass.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The probably best feature of this product is you can cut it on a table saw and drill holes in it, unlike glass. It seems to me that acrylic sheet - plexigless used to be a lot less expensive. I guess this product is tied to oil prices, so it's price is understandable. Beats working with glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from product and price exceptional the wife wanted the back side or our new/refurbished hutch to be see through so for safety reasons and cost i went with plexiglass. we like the look and i liked the ease of installation.
