These are nice socks and clearly well made (as they should be at the price). I got them for my wife to wear at football games. She has monster legs so they fit so tight that getting the battery in and out is very hard (so she says). I checked and it did not seem that tight to me so that is mainly her being whiny and oversensitive. I could see the battery going in and out pretty easy. She is supersensitive and don’t even tie her shoes half tight and likes everything loose. OK, she really don’t have “monster” legs but evidently she is muscular more than some of the chicken legged guys who tried these on as they fit snug in a large on her. She probably needed an XL to fit to her preference. I would be fine wearing these myself as I have normal sized calves. They do get warm in the right places. The battery technology is certainly a big step beyond the ones I had decades ago for hunting that used a 9V battery. Those ate through a battery very fast. These will keep your toes toasty for a good long while. Just the thing for very cold nights in the bleachers. The material is very thick and nice quality. So even without the battery they are pretty darn warm. They are long and come way up – to the knee on my short wife with the monster legs. They happen to be her favorite color too (orange and black which is her teams colors). The charger has a split head so you can charge both batteries at once. If you are a cold toes wimp or just don’t like cold feet when you work, hunt or enjoy some cold weather sports these are not bad. And there is more than one intensity so you can ramp it up when things get even more icy or scale it down to make the batteries last longer. 40 years ago I gave about 1/4th this for a pair so given inflation and the fact these are far better quality I suppose the not insubstantial price is not out of proportion to the product quality and featuresin this day and time. The only drawback I can see is they are pricey. But on a cold cold night when your toes are frozen what is it worth to you ?

These socks are from the makers of the ORORO brand of heated apparel, i.e. vests, coats, gloves, etc. I found the socks to be well-made and comfortable to wear. The socks came with a battery charger, charging cord and two batteries (one for each sock). They took about two and a half hours to charge out of the box. The instructions for use are straight-forward and simple. The socks are marked (L) left and (R) right to ensure proper use. The battery packs fix in a pocket at the top of each sock and have a connection plug in the pocket. The batteries slip into the pocket and should have the control button and indicator lights at the top. The level indicator light is visible through the Cool-Max sock material and the button can be activated through the sock material. The heating comes on almost instantly and is very subtle. It is probably best used in a pair of boots or shoes that offer some insulation. I did not notice that my feet were not hot, but that the heat kept them from getting colder in the 40ish degree weather. I was wearing pair of walking shoes that were a Summer type shoe. The socks were on the highest setting and I wore them on a dog walk of about 15-20 minutes. While not super warm, they did keep my feet from getting cold. These do not have the noticeable difference of my ORORO vest, but do offer some protection and comfort against the cold. As mentioned, I believe that these sock would offer better heating quality in a boot or insulted shoe. They are better than conventional socks and they will not roast your foot. I'd give them four stars.

These Coolmax Heated Socks are just awesome. They come with rechargable batteries that last the whole day long (low setting...which is more than adequate) and are padded so that you don't even know there are wires in the socks. The included charging block and wire can charge both batteries at the same time. The pocket for the batteries allow for comfort and you don't even feel the battery in the sock as you work throughout the day.

These were ordered online and shipped to our home without issue. These are pretty comfortable socks once you get use to the feeling of the heating element on the ball of your foot. I honestly feels like you have something like tape stuck to the outside bottom of your sock when first putting them on and walking around. I wear a 10.5 to an 11 shoe size and I order a medium sock and these fit perfectly for my size of foot. There is a special charger that comes with these socks that allows for both batteries to charge at the same time. The battery takes about 2 hours to charge, and there is a special pouch on each sock for the battery. I tried one these with my snowboard boots just to see where the battery would sit. It looked to be just fine with room to spare. I might try these on one of those subzero days or just out snow-blowing or snow shoeing. These socks are also right and left specific . There is a marking by the toe. so you'll always want to make sure the battery pouches are on the outside of you calf to avoid them hitting each other. There is 3 heating modes. and you can tailor each foot individually. you'll just have to press the button on the battery back to low, medium or hot and you off. I have a battery charge last for most of the day on medium before my feet felt too hot and I turned them off.

On their own without the heat on, these socks are nice and thick and warm. They also go far up the calf and stay in place with the elastic cuffs. I spend a lot of time in a cold garage in the fall and winter and my feet are always cold. I've been looking for socks like these - they each have a small battery that powers a heat pad in the foot. You can feel the pads when you first put them on but with repeated uses, I barely notice it. Each sock battery has 3 heat levels and an indicator to show how much of a charge it has. Included is a charger with a cord that connects to both batteries so they can be charged at once. Highly recommended for anyone whose feet are cold.
