Good Grips Stainless Steel Potato Ricer is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 11.

I have been using this ricer daily to make appetizers like potato kabobs, Samosa filling, Pakoras etc. and it has been consistently delivering perfect results. With potatoes perfectly riced, the food comes out much fluffier with improved flavor. I have also tried boiled eggs with potatoes to prepare baby food and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The handle is long enough and provides good moment arm to easily push down. It performs much better when using freshly boiled potatoes cut into smaller cubes while cold ones demand a bit more pushing on the handle. I generally wash it with hands but have tried it in dishwasher too, either way very easy to clean. This is an excellent product and I really love the convenience and ease it provides for my cooking prep. Highly recommended.

I have no previous experience using a vegetable ricer so I can't compare this one to any others, that being said, I can't imagine any other product working better for its intended purpose then this one. I have done potatoes and cauliflower so far with great results. It will fit a medium sized potato and 5-6 cauliflower florets. This is not a utensil that will see daily use but it is a nice addition to the kitchen.

My wife and I had never heard of a potato ricer before but when I saw this I had to give it a try as we love mashed potatoes but the traditional "potato masher" was a lot of work and the electric mixer was a pain to set up and clean. This simple device makes "mashing" potatoes very easy. We just microwaved them (we boil them when we have time) until they are soft and load them into this squeezer and press. The results were potatoes ready to mix with butter, cream, and salt that could be stirred in with a fork or spoon. When done I just rinse off and put in the dishwasher. Very nice and convenient little gadget!

The product arrived well packaged and protected and was ready for use after washing it thoroughly. It "riced" potatoes easily but you have to limit how many pieces you put in at a time for quality ricing. If potato skins are still on the potato you just have to clean them out of the bottom of the ricer occasionally. This ricer has a good weight and quality feel to it and you can smash potatoes or other vegetables quite easily by hand. It can also go on the top rack of the dishwasher for cleaning which is a great plus!

I've been wanting to make potato dumplings (German recipe) for a while now, but was lacking the potato ricer. I came across this one by chance and bought it. I like that it is an all stainless design. The handle is sturdy, but even stronger would be better. It's not a problem, as long as you make sure the potatoes are completely soft boiled. Cleaning is easy, just scrape out remaining potatoes and stick it in the dishwasher.

My old one is about 50 years old so it is great to have a nice shiny one. My first use was to rice yukon gold potatoes and the results were perfect. Light, fluffy potatoes without using a masher and having to add milk which is much better for the diet!. The operation is smooth and the "smasher" closes into the cup without getting stuck outside the rim. There are no sharp edges and the cup is a solid piece so nothing gets stuck making it easy to clean. There is a nice extension which allows you to rest it on a pot or bowl and the handles are padded with non-slip silicone to aid in closing without the stainless steel getting hot from the potatoes. It is dishwasher safe too. Love it.

If you have ever wanted to try one, this is a good value. The cup and handles are fairly thick stainless steel, and they don't flex much even under moderate pressure. When used properly with boiled potatoes (or other softened veggies), it takes very little effort to press. And of course it makes great lump-free mashed potatoes. Both pivots use decent rivets with some play to allow things to align. This is not a large ricer; because of the low hinge, it can only be loaded just over 1/2 full. If you are making a normal meal, up to 4 people, that's just fine. I do not like the rubbery handle inserts and pad; they have a strong plastic odor. Fortunately the inserts pop out of the handle easily, and the pad slides right off. There are no sharp edges anywhere, even under the handle inserts, so if you prefer all stainless steel utensils as I do, this one works great.

I wanted this to make cauliflower “rice” which is a low carb, healthier alternative to white rice. Alternatively you can make cauliflower “mashed potato” (just add garlic and butter and call it that!). I wondered if I could use it on raw cauliflower and then cook it, but that didn’t work. Once the cauliflower was cooked just enough to soften it then it worked well. Check out the photos. One thing I don’t like is how loose the rivets are that hold the moving handle to the rest of the ricer. It makes it feel cheap and flimsy.
