Exactly what I needed for this repair. I had a broken cast iron flange, which I chiseled out & replaced with this PVC flange. It was a straight forward job.
I also used a two part mortar epoxy to repair the broken up concrete around this cast iron pipe.

I have the version that fits inside of a 3 inch pipe and it just rattles around. Look at the picture the outside diameter of the gasket is less than 3 inches

This Oatey PVC Twist-n-set open flange is MADE IN THE USA! That was a nice surprise to encounter after receiving the product. It worked as expected The Toilet Bowl Flange appears to be made of durable PVC plastic. The design is tapered which helps with installation. The product should fit inside 4 in. PVC and cast iron piping. there is a rubber gasket in place for installing it in combination with cast iron pipes.

The Oatey PVC Twist-n-set open flange isn't the ideal way of installing a new flange at all, but in some rare circumstances, this will work. Most flanges can be repaired or patched, but when the whole cast iron flange is shot and you need to make a repair without tearing everything up, this will push in place and then secure to the subfloor and will allow you to finish the job without leaks or smells!

I know this is going to sound like a negative review but I still recommend using the product, okay the plastic is high quality and very durable, problem is that the flange pictured on the Home Depot site and the one that gets sent are different, the flange on the site has a nice taper, the flange sent is blunt, so this being a sleeve and already reducing the pipe diameter the taper would have solids transition but the one sent is blunt, other than that it works well, simply clean your old broken flange, slip this in with the supplied rubber seal, use stainless steel screws to bolt it to the floor and you have a quality temporary repair until you have time or money to do the job right, i look at it as a temporary permanent repair.

The "twist in' toilet flanges are so much easier to use than the pvc cemented style. The twist in style is also more convenient for any future repairs. The rubber gasket really fits tight and makes the user confident that they have a good seal under the toilet. Application of the flange is through an actual twisting motion and the correct final height is so much easier to achieve than with pvc cement style flanges.
This Oatey PVC Twist-n-Set Open Flange looks to be OK. I need to reset a toilet in the VERY near future, so I wanted to have this on hand for that job. Since I don’t have full use of both arms, I have to wait for someone to help. The cast iron flanges in our old house are rusted and broken. Since they’re done with lead joints and set in concrete, these repair flanges are the best option. I’ve previously used similar repair flanges, but with internal screw-type adjustment for tightening the gasket. This flange has the same type of seal, but the seal itself is threaded onto the tapered, threaded part of the flange that is inserted into the cast iron pipe, leaving the inside smooth. It is tightened by turning the flange using the closet mounting bolts. It looks like it will be quite easy to use, but I’m not sure yet whether or not this method will get the seal as tight as I want it, with the flange sitting flush on the old flange. I found pretty quickly, with the other style, that the repair flange gasket needs to be pretty tight to keep it from pulling loose, if there is ANY movement of the toilet.
Since these repair flanges raise the toilet above the tile, it is necessary shim with wedges to level and stabilize it, followed by grouting around the base with sanded grout. Caulk will NOT do the job! I’m looking forward to trying this flange out to see if it works as well as, or better than, the other style.
