CPVC is normally used for hot water service whereas the PVC is for cold water. It is rated to the pipe pressure which is normally 200psi.

This is for CPVC pipe and fitting. For PVC pipe and fittings we recommend using a PVC cement.

Not sure what you mean. This welds PVC pipes together. Under the sink you have a trap that has its own fittings and sealing gaskets. If the trap is imstalled correctly it won't leak unless it's actually broken.

I've used it for PVC piping though for a climbing structure for a toddler so it is not water filled. Holds very strong so far, but over two weeks of use.

You might try some MEK (methyl ethyl ketone). It's a little more aggressive than acetone.

The longer the better for joints to bond. However most plumbing applications 2 hours is long enough.

Worked very well, bonds quickly and holds very strong. The integrated brushs are doing their job and things are just a bit messy (the purple primer is very liquid and drips everywhere).

Used product to glue CPVC piping replacing water heater. Container sizes are perfect for small jobs. The advantage of using the colored primer and cement is it allows you to see that you have coated all components to be bonded together. Caution needs to be exercised when applying the prime. Since it is very fluid, it will drip and run. While it does not effect the bonding it is not aesthetically pleasing to see purple runs on your new white piping and purple spots on the floor. Ventilation is important.

Had a small job that I needed to repair some CPVC piping. Then set was great! the cans were the perfect size for the job so I'm not going to waste much. I was able to clean the existing pipes and the new pipes before gluing together which is always a plus. The cleaner can be used on more than just CPVC. I've sealed the cans back tight so hopefully they will last incase I need to make another repair. Overall was satisfied with the price and quality of the product.

I connected new CPVC pipe using this product in a shower installation in my bathroom remodel. Nothing leaked, so the product did what it was designed to do. What I liked best was the packaging - 4 oz. instead of 8 oz. cans - plenty for a single project.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
Oatey has long been the go to cement for PVC, CPVC, and ABS plastic pipe (this product is for PVC and CPVC only). Not only is it the best and easiest to use, it's a well known name brand that plumbers trust (although I have noticed that a lot of people in the trade like to put an "L" in the name and call it Oatley). All of their cements and primers are compliant with all of the residential, commercial and industrial standards for hot and cold potable water and sewer. They are suitable for all classes and schedules of pipe and fittings up to 6". So whether your doing water service or drains or any project with plastic pipe, your good to go with this product. Easiest means exactly that. What could be easier than squaring off a pipe, applying a quick wipe of the primer, a quick wipe of the cement to both pieces and then doing a quarter turn as you slide the pipe end into the fitting. Even the hardest part is easy, ensuring that you have applied both the primer and cement all the way around the pipe end and fitting with no gaps. The brush is attached to the cap so you never have to waste time looking for a brush. When you have your two little cans, you have everything you need to do plumbing connections. Easy!
