Solvent Weld Steps
Step 1
Determine pipe type and size.
Step 2
Cut pipe square, chamfer and debur. Clean pipe and fitting.
Step 3
Apply primer to pipe and fittings. (Do not use primer for ABS pipe.)
Step 4
Before primer dries, apply solvent cement to pipe and fitting. While cement is wet, push pipe and fitting together with a 1/4 turn of the pipe.

Heavy duty is the best!
If you have to glue any CPVC pipe this is the cement to use. Make sure your pipes are clean and free of dirt, sand and oils. Measure twice, cut once and dry fit everything because once glued the pipes will never come apart. With this CPVC cement you don’t need a primer! However, before you skip the primer check with your local building department to be sure as some municipal building codes might still require the use of the purple primer.

Oatley Orange Lava Heavy-Duty CPVC Cement- Holds under extreme conditions.
OATEY Orange Lava 16 oz. Heavy-Duty Orange CPVC Cement was used in an emergency situation. The sump pump discharge end broke off; Orange Lava was used without the benefit of complete assembly preparation. It held and performed. It stayed in place under tremendous vibration and transferred well over 2950 gallon of water in 26 hours. This will be a staple in our pipe kit.

ALWAYS A GREAT PRODUCT
I have used many Oatey products for plumbing in bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor lines and the many products are always of great quality. The product lasts and works as advertised and I have had zero issues. This product is a hot glue and generally does not need a cleaner first. However, if you choose to use some Oatey purple cleaner to further ensure a liquid tight seal, then by all means do so. I recommend this product.

Special Purpose Cement for CPVC water piping applications
Perfect solution for hot and cold water applications using CPVC pipes and fittings. CPVC can handle temperatures up to 200° Fahrenheit, while PVC peaks at 140° Fahrenheit. CPVC pipe is either light gray and/or yellow while PVC is white.
Fast setting/curing for CPVC pipe and fittings up to 6 inches. Does not require primer nor any bracing and quickly melts CPVC to weld the joint.
I use various Oatey cement products including the clear PVC cement and the purple primer in a variety of applications including sprinklers and pool plumbing. The various Oatey product colors are important when working with inspectors. The purple primer is easily seen on white PVC pipes. The orange is recognized for CPVC applications, and the light avocado green for ABS to PVC transitions.
Please note that this product has a very strong odor and care should be taken when using to ensure there is proper ventilation and safety precautions are followed to reduce inhalation.

OATEY Orange Lava Heavy Duty CPVC Cement 16-Ounce
One-step, fast curing application cement for cut-in pipe repairs up to 6 inches in diameter. This cement works fast so you have less downtime. Primer is not required. 16 oz. Heavy-Duty Orange CPVC cement. Can be used for commercial hot or cold-water systems up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. The process for application is as follows: Determine pipe size and type; cut pipe, clean pipe and fitting; apply solvent before primer dries to pipe and fitting. Push pipe and fitting together with a ¼” turn while cement is still wet. Having just had a pipe repair I know this product would have been much more user friendly than the one we used. OATEY will be my new brand to use since I completed this testing. The fast cure is a plus!

THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this for fastening my PVC pipes in my underground sprinkler system that had broken. Plenty of time to put the pipes together, and then they are solidly stuck. Love that it is low VOC as well.

Great features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Oatey One Step Hot Heavy Duty ORANGE LAVA CPVC CUT IN CEMEBT a month ago, so happy I did. We used this product on the drip line for our HVAC unit. Works very well. All we needed to do was shake the can a bit and apply to the surface needing glued. We cleaned the excess glue off with a dry cloth. This product is amazing works so well. Has a good seal, bond when dried, which dries very quick. Great product, we will continue to use this product for our projects .

Good quality!

It comes in a metal can with a screw on top that keeps it from drying out. Good quality product from Oatey that will always be found in my Husband's tool kit!
