Mine has been in use now for almost 30 days and at 3 to 4 loads per week, shows no signs of diminishing or needing to be replaced. Will it hold up for 6 months, 1 year, longer.... I do not know but if it fails during that time I will post here.

I would recommend mounting it vertically. If the seals ever go bad then draining the water out of line will recharge the arrester by letting air into the vertical chamber.

It's rated AA so 3 neighboring fixtures should be covered, not the entire line, and I wouldn't expect anything outside of 15'

Yes. All it does is help to absorb water pressure spikes. It's not going to affect anything else.

what is water hammering?

It's the banging noise that happens when you're running water and then suddenly stop. The sudden stop causes a pressure "spike" in the pipes and this causes the "banging" noise.

The hammer arresters are doing their job. To make sure to reduce the hammer noise and not have unnecessary jerking of the washing machine hoses, I installed the hammer arresters directly to the back of the washing machine and then installed the washing machine hoses between the arresters and the washing machine supply line shut off valves. So quiet now.

Samsung front load washer sounded like gun fire so I installed one at each outlet in the back of washer. They helped but water hammer still very noticeable. So I got two more and connected two pieces together and installed in the back of washer. No more water hammer!!!

The slamming is gone.
The washing machine is so quiet now, I can't tell it's on anymore when I'm upstairs unless I'm the one who loaded it. Our previous washer didn't slam the pipes. The one we have now did. The pipes jolted for 30 or more feet of length from the washer and a loud knocking sound went through the house numerous times during a load of laundry. Having heard about the problem from others, I knew what it was. And I knew of the solution involving a water hammer arrester built into the pipes. While researching what a plumber might do, I learned there are do-it-yourself solutions like Oatey's that can be attached about as easily as a garden hose to a spigot. I also learned this isn't kept in stock at local home improvement stores. So I ordered online through Home Depot. The product arrived at the store a couple days sooner than I was told it would. So that was good. At first, I put on just one arrester. Having hot muffled but cold left the way it was made for a good side by side comparison when the washer drew from one and then the other during a load that needed both. I was so impressed, I hated having to wait for that load of laundry to finish so I could put the other one on. The fast on-off of the hot water valve barely thumped. Cold still slammed! A DIYer who hasn't done much supply line plumbing should remember to use thread tape and possibly an appropriate wrench to tighten the connections a little tighter than you can do by hand. That'll make sure water doesn't spray everywhere and the rings don't work loose from normal use.

These completely eliminated the water hammer caused by the closing of the feed valves in my washer. The plumbing is now quiet and I expect that the solder joints will be happier in the long run. Well worth the money.

WOW! Didn’t know these existed! best money i’ve ever spent!
My laundry is right above my living room! When I installed the water valves for my washer, i was too cheap to buy the ones with the water hammer arresters! I have regretted that ever since. I was shopping for something else and saw these! I didn’t even know they existed! 5 minutes for installation and wow!! Dead silent! Not only is the water hammer gone, you cant hear the water flowing through the pipes anymore either!! FANTASTIC!
