    Oatey does not have a product for that application. There are products available for catching hair but we do not have a specific recommendation.

    This is gray ,do you use regular PVC glue to go to white PVC ?

    It is gray in color but is still Sch.40 PVC - any of our PVC cements will work for this item.

    Another great oatey product, using PVC, for a shower drain, with a stainless steel strainer in white. Having a shower in the basement , makes cleanup after spending hours outside doing yard work, planting flower etc. the shower stall was finally hooked up with the water, but no drain cover, which was asking to be clogged with each use, installing the PVC, proved to be the right choice. It was an easy install, no leaks detected, a win for sure.

    I've installed this shower drain into our stand up shower. This brand Oatey I used over the years and I'm very satisfied with the durability and long lasting. The drain is easy to install and prior to install make certain the pipes fit into the 2 inch gray drain body to make sure it's properly insert before bonding. The great thing about this drain works ideal with PVC, cast iron and ABS so this compatible with materials. What's included in this kit: drain body base, metal strainer, adjustable threaded strainer body, collar bolts and reversible clamping ring. I've added a few photos to get an idea.

    Oatey 42310 Shower Pan Liner Drain. If you're installing a tile shower with a shower liner, you need the Oatey 42310. The drain is comes in four pieces: the drain base, the clamping ring, the drain barrel and the strainer. The drain base is fixed to your drainage plumbing. The clamp ring holds the liner in place and contains weep holes that allows residual water to travel down the liner (you need a preslop) and into the drain. The drain barrel is screw adjusted allowing you to adjust based on the thickness of your mortar bed. Buy Oatey all the way. Read all the instructions. Note - Tile showers are not for average DIYer. You need the shower water proof or you will have a mess on your hands. Read, ready, read. Visit johnbriggs for instructions. Follow Oatey instructions. Be sure to install a pre-slope prior to installing a the liner.

    This Oatey PVC Shower Drain with Round Stainless-Steel Strainer, White shower drain looks great in the bathroom shower drain. Since it is square it floats perfectly within the tiles and is easy to take top off if you need to clean under or in the pipe. It is stylish and holds up well from day to day. The oversized top square drain allows for a larger area for the water to enter your plumbing pipe.

    The overall rating is 4 stars because the manufacturer did not provide standard labeling, retail packaging or instructions for this promo item, so it was a guess of whether the material was ABS, PVC or something else, and therefore it was not known what adhesive glue could be used. The color of the material is gray, not white or black as might be expected to identify the material. Having to go to the vendor's website for info when you are on a jobsite is a time-waster. But this is a well-engineered product once the specifics were known.

    The Oatey PVC Shower drain round stainless steel strainer arrived quickly and well packaged to prevent loss or damage. Both pieces included. (the strainer screws into the base). We selected it because of it being an Oatey product, which means quality. We like the screw in feature for easy cleaning. The specific feature is that it is a stainless steel strainer. We use it in a sink. The quality is top notch. Easy to install and use. It's working out as planned. We like it.

    Oatey Shower Drain made of PVC measures at 2 and a half inches to fit into drain pipe, the stainless steel drain plate measures over 4 inches and is 4 inches tall from top to bottom. Very solid and well made. I ordered online after taking measurements understanding description will fit drain pipe 2-3 inches in width. Im not a plumber and do not understand how this is even possible even with the purchase of some type of an adapter. I was hoping there was a little flexibility. I would recommend shopping in the Home Depot Store opposed to ordering online. My shower was installed and the home built around it so I am not able to disassemble any of the plumbing so I will try Oatey in a different size because quality and workmanship appear to be good quality

    If you are installing a shower drain with PVC pipe then you need this drain. PVC drains and ABS drains are not interchangeable. Make sure you have the right one. The newer drains like this one come with an additional flange on top of the shower liner that bolts down. Then you screw in the final top and strainer to the correct height depending on your floor finish. You can use a premade pan, tile or stone. This drain is quality and rugged for many years of use.
