This trailer has dimensions listed in 3 places and they are all different. What are the true dimensions of the trailer?
If I come to store to purchase they 20 cu. ft steel dump cart, do they have them put together there?
I doubt it. HD will ship it direct to you, I don't think you can pick it up. It required a huge ESTES truck and powered lift to set it down.

What is the spacing between the inner edges of the wheels? I'm trying to figure out if this can go over my garden beds so that I can spread compost.

can this cart be towed on public roads?
This cart was not designed or tested for use on public roads and cannot be licensed for use on public roads. It is specifically for towing behind a lawn tractor on lawns.
Absolutely NOT. It wouldn't stand up to the road bumps and vibration, it is flimsy.
What are the dimensions of the bed and how high are the side walls?
The capacity is 20 cu ft heaped (17 cu ft level) and the dimensions of the bed are 34”W x 60”L x 15”H.
what Guage steel is used in this cart?
It is flimsy, unlike my original Craftsman welded cart from 10+ years ago. Reviews say throwing rocks into it to haul dents it.
The body of the cart along with the front gate and tailgate pieces are 16 gauge steel. The undercarriage is 14 gauge steel and the drawbar is 11 gauge steel.
Does the axle have bearings? Or is it just sleeves?
No bearings. Just greaseable bushings. Like on most lawn tractor front wheels.
