Love this pot. Had it a few months. Huge capacity, which if filled all the way definitely takes longer to boil. Routinely, I don't fill it all the way and it boils quickly. Easy to wipe clean. Love the no-polish copper. Brings compliments from others. Handle can get hot if you let it boil too long. Just grab a pot holder if you know you let it whistle too long, that's all. I would recommend this pot to others.

The modernized non-tarnish Old Dutch DuraCopper assemblage, along with Ganymeade's very sleek body style and superb craftmanship, makes this tea kettle the world's absolute best. I love it so much and use it every day. The shiny copper finish is simply stunning and will never need polishing. I've wiped it down with a dampened cloth and it's good to go. There's a large curved handle that is highly arched, allows easy maneuverability when pouring, and easy accessability to lid removal when filling. The stainless steel interior is sterile and safe. A whistling sound can be heard when the water starts boiling. It's perfectly sized for the stovetop and holds 2.75 quarts of water. The water heats quickly on a lower flame and retains that heat inside the kettle for a long time making it very energy efficient. The handle does not get hot when using a low or medium flame. It actually stays cool to the touch. However, if a high flame (not recommended) were used to heat the kettle, then the handle does get moderately hot. The instructions specifically say on all cookware, including this tea kettle, not to use an excessively high flame that causes the flames to go up on the side of the pot. That kind of extremity isn't necessary when a lower flame heats just as quickly. The Old Dutch DuraCopper Ganymeade Tea Kettle works beautifully. The construction is very well made. It will last a lifetime.

Very attractive and holds a high volume of water
There is something about having a good, old fashioned stove top tea kettle that makes steeping a pot and/or cup of tea that much more special. Electric tea kettles are great, but there is something so charming about hearing that whistle from the stove top tea kettle that warms you before you've even had your first sip of tea. This especially is true on a dreary and rainy day. To make this experience even more captivating, why not use a copper tea kettle? This copper tea kettle is so beautiful and has all of the old world charm with the copper, yet it is a stylish modern design. You really do get the best of both worlds with this kettle. I am in love with it. The tea kettle works on all cook top types (gas, electric, induction, etc.). It has a heavy bottom which not only adds to the stability and strength of the tea kettle, but it enables the liquid within to heat evenly by first heating the thick metal on the base which then transfers the heat to the contents without heat loss. If the bottom were thin, then you would have cycles where the water pulls the heat out of the metal causing the metal to cool down, so it has to heat up again then the water again pulls the heat out, and so on. Basically, if you have a thin metal tea kettle (or any cooking pan), then you will have a series of heating and cooling cycles during your cooking time which will be much longer. This tea kettle has a very thick base resulting in a more stable heat transfer resulting in a more efficient heating time. The lid is light weight with a snug fit preventing any steam from escaping through any gaps between the lid and the kettle. The lid is not too tight where it could become difficult to remove. It is easy to put on and take off using the comfortable handle that remains cool to the touch. The handle of the tea kettle also remains cool to the touch and is nice and thick providing an easy grip. When this tea kettle is full, it can become quite heavy, so the thick handle makes it very easy to handle the tea kettle. An added feature is the straining holes located inside the kettle at the base of the spout. These are nice to have to keep your loose leaf tea or tea bags from pouring into your tea pot or cup. Or worse, plugging up your tea spout with tea bags if you've boiled water with added tea bags directly in the kettle.I find these straining holes to be a bit too large to capture most lose tea leaves. However, I only ever boil water in my tea kettles, so I don't have to worry about this personally. The whistle is really great looking. There is a nice rubber like seal which creates a pressurized vessel further enabling faster heating of the liquids within. The whistle is quiet, yet very audible. I can recall some older tea kettles where you could hear the whistle from outside, down the street, and around the corner. Those things where loud! Not so with this tea kettle. The whistle is a steady sound at a low and consistent volume. I rather like that it won't wake up your sleeping neighbor. In summary, I love this tea kettle. This is the kettle to replace all kettles.

I love the look of a copper tea kettle sitting on the stove. To me, it's a sure accent while being functional, too. Last year, I bought a very expensive copper tea kettle, but once it needed cleaning, the surface did not restore well. This DuraCopper Tea Kettle is a blend of titanium with copper, so it never needs to be polished. Food-grade stainless interior. It will maintain its high shine with just soapy water and a rinse. It's a real win -- sells for only half the price of my previous tea kettle, but will require less work! Gentle whistle, too.

I can only relate on looks right now, I have not used the kettle since I am saving it for a present. Its nice sized, the copper is beautiful, handle and spot seem very well made. I'm happy with my purchase as long as it holds up

Beautiful to look at on top of induction cook top, but sadly circumference is too small (less than 6") to make this tea kettle efficient...it took twice as long to heat water than in my enamel kettle. Am returning and have ordered the higher and wider sister kettle. Expect this will be more efficient.

This thing is much bigger than it looks. The copper is absolutely beautiful as long as you keep cooking oil off of it. You can boil ALOT of water in this thing. 2.6 liters is a big tea party! The whistle works well and the handle is angled just right. Cleaning is not difficult but is more involved that normal kitchenware (copper is just that way. There isn't any getting around it.)
