Those dimensions you have are correct. 1/2" is how thick the bricks are. For any flooring installation you need to either install on cement or lay a cement board down and then install on the cement board. If installed properly they are suitable for foot traffic and will not crack.
They are 1/2 in thick.
Yes they can be installed behind a wood stove.
Yes it would be able to withstand that heat
Yes they can be installed outside on top of a concrete patio.
I dont see why not, as it's a solid foundation to apply them to. Should be easy. I used mine as a beautiful backsplash. I am going to order for the 3rd time as I'm continuing it on my walls and columns.. love them!!!
No 'short-cut' adhesive will work in the long term. Staple steel mesh to surface, skim coat with masonry cement and let it cure for 24h. Then cement the product to the skim coat and let it cure at least 7 days in a dry environment after which coat with a sealant. You could use a 'Liquid Nails' type product or similar but in a month or two a least or a year or two if you're very lucky, you'll have to re-do the job and it will be more time consuming and more expensive too.
It could, but if you dropped anything hard and heavy on it, it would break. Real stone or full size bricks are what I would use for a floor covering.
I'm not sure how durable the thin bricks are in a high traffic area. We used them for a 6'x5' pad under our woodstove so it doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. By the way, they look great.
Yes, our Brickweb and colonial individual thin brick is great for a floor installation.
I wouldn't. 1) They are made with a much softer material than ceramic tile, which means they won't wear well and may break. 2) Their surface is rough and porous and would be very hard to clean. 3) They vary somewhat in thickness which would make it hard to get a level floor over thinset. They worked fine for me on a vertical application wrapping 4x6 PT deck support posts.
